i try to do it but when i do nothing happens. i first summon the golden saint and then i use soul trap for 60 sec and then i kill it and it only takes about 10 secs to kill. i really cant figure this out and i want to so i can make something that has a constint effect

Remember that in order to trap a creature like what you're talking about, you need to summon it and kill it... but also have a soul gem with a capacity equal to or higher than the charge of the soul you're trying to trap. In the case of a Golden Saint, it is the highest possible summonable critter with the biggest soul (400 points, enough to enchant constant effect items), so you'll need an empty Grand Soul Gem or Azura's Star to capture her.
To get Azura's Star--
[SPOILER]If you want Azura's star, go to Azura's shrine on the southeastern corner of Vvardenfell (check your map). Go in and talk to the statue of Azura, and she will send you on a quest so you can get her Star, a reusable grand soul gem. :)[/SPOILER]
