The game crashes ALWAYS when
I come back up from the crypts with the helmet of Poxellus. I can't go up from level 7 to level 6, it always crashes while loading. Very annoying especially as I'm almost finished. Only need to go to the Ylsides bunker now.
I've tried restarting the computer, no help.

No help I'm afraid, just a similar tale -- I can no longer go to the original Goblin jail level (where the game begins) without crashing back to the desktop. No error message is given, and it happens regardless of the access point I use to try to get there.
Curiously (the above aside), the game no longer seems to crash as often as it used to. I've been running v1.15 from the start, and it used to die quite frequently with a memory error (I forget the exact message) when loading a level (the human city especially). It hasn't done that to me in ages, but I seem doomed to never re-visit the jail cells and their surroundings.
I have an 800MHz Athlon, Asus A7V motherboard, 256MB RAM, SB Live sound card, and Gainward 128MB GF4-4200 video card, and I'm running Win98 SE.
I've tried updating the video card drivers to no avail. I've had a hard time *finding* any recent drivers for the SB Live -- the official site has nothing more recent than April 2000 or some such. (I did install the EAX2 drivers from the Arx CD, though.) I recall there used to be "LiveWare" drivers, but I'm damned if I can find these anywhere. I did try disabling the SB Live from the Windows Control Panel -> System screens, though, and Arx still CTD'd when I tried to get to the jail area, so I'm guessing that it isn't a sound issue.
I guess I need to visit the JoWood Arx tech support forum, but I currently have no net access at home (where I play the game) which makes it awkward. I'll have to dump all the required data to disc and take it to work to send from there, and I can only suggest that you do likewise and see if you get any help. Have a look through the forum first in case anyone has already posted a similar problem. I didn't spot anything similar the last time I looked, though.

Same story here,
first with the dwarfmines then after a complete restart, it happened again at the outpost (this happened as soon as I got the trolls back to work, and they'd cleared the path), but luckily I had -by then- learned to save often and backup saves before overwriting them, went back to a save where I could enter the outpost and replayed the last bit... :erg:
So, no solution here either, but I have to admit that I rather enjoyed replaying a large part of the game with all the advance knowledge I had gathered the days before...
avoiding Werespiders, until I could cast fireball :ebil:

Loading from an earlier save helped actually (I wouldn't have thought that as that save was still in the same area).
