help finding golden saint

Hi everyone, I'm a relatively new morrowind player and I was hoping you could help me claer up some issues:

My character is a thief who uses shortblades and I was wondering how can I get a good dagger? I stole a glass jink blade, but the damn thing runs out of charges very quickly and I need something else to hit them with while they are stunned. I've been using bound dagger but it gets really annoying having to open up menu, find spell and cast it every battle.

I've heard some talk about enchanting a dagger with a golden saint sould, but I need a grand soul gem first of all and also I need to find a golden saint. I have also heard that there is a way to summon them with scrolls.

Do you guys know where I can find the proper soul gem and a golden saint to kill?

BTW I dont have the expansion... :(

any help would be greatly appreciated ;)

also I would like to know if anybody knows an easy way to get a regular enchantable good dagger (such as a daedric dagger... i guess lol).

The glass jinkblade is pretty damn good, and you won't get much out of enchanting daggers. golden saints can only be found when wandering around places like daedric ruins at higher levels. or you could get the summon spell/scroll. you'll need a greater soul gem i think, and a soul trap spell. cast soul trap on the saint, then kill it and you'll have trapped it's soul. then find enchanter and use soulgem with soul to enchant a dagger. if your looking for g saints, you must want constant effect enchantments, and those run up pretty high in money cost and enchantment points. you won't get anything better than the glass jinkblade early on. if your good at lock picking, go south of balmora til you reach wooden plank bridge, cross it and find an ebony mine. i think it's called vissir-didanit mine but just go in, then go out and go to vivec. go to st. olm's canton plaza. up in the plaza you'll find a ''haunted manor''. go in, lock pick door and talk the rich dude down there. go down the topic list and find ''vissir-didanit mine'' he'll say some stuff, then offer you a weapon. choose dagger or shortblade whatever it is and you'll get a daedric whatever :) good luck

A relatively early quest offers Soul Stealer- a daedric dagger with soultrap cast-as-strikes enchantment- as a reward. I cannot remember who offers the quest though- someone else might. Possibly one of the Mages' guild quests.

Yes, Mages guild quest gives you the Soul Drinker...

Golden Saints can be summoned using scrolls which shouldn't be too hard to find...

I agree with the above though, the amount of enchantment you can fit in a dagger isn't going to be that much so Glass Jinkblades & the Soul Drinker are pretty good weapons for their type. I think the problem might lie in the rapid hitting done with a dagger and the fact it expends a use each time you hit though...hence running out of charge pretty quickly... however I don't think you will be able to do a decent constant effect on a dagger, so you might have to make do with what you have and swap between blades...

thanks alot guys, do you think it would be possible to get a shortsword instead of a dagger? maybe that would be better for enchanting...

Either way all I was gonna do was put a constant effect paralize for like 4-5 seconds on it, im not sure if thats possible or not, but the faq that I read said that it was a good idea...

also dont you need a grand soul gem? I have found a couple greater soul gems but no grand ones... is it even necessary to have a grand soul gem if all i wanna do is put 4-5 seconds of paralize?

hey crazygonuts, how far south from balmora is the mine? cuz ive gone almost to the nest town and I havent seen it,k do you follow the path? cuz theere isnt really a path that leads directly south from balmora. Im gonna keep looking, btw i have seen many egg mines and such but none with the name you mentioned.

Shortswords can be enchanted with paralyze- mine is called Be Still. You don't need a grand soul gem. Galbedir in Balmora Mages guild, upstairs, has several greater soul gems, IIRC- try pilfering one while doing the 'bet with Galbedir' quest for Ajira (same place, downstairs)
