Hello All- Great Site! Need Help w/ MOD

Hello all, just wanted to say what a great site this is. I need some help. I installed the Stalker 2009 Complete Mod but when I run it, I still get the Stalker game patched 1005 fully patched version USA. Everything is still the same as the vanilla game. I did everything the readme says. What could I be doing wrong? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Are you using any other mods, or is this your first? If it is, did you remember to change that pesky line in (I think) user.ltx in your stalker directory to enable mods. It might be another .ltx, I forget. Also, make sure the directory structures are intact: in your stalker directory, you should have a gamedata folder, which should contain folders like config, textures, sound, etc etc.

Sorry if this is all hideously obvious, but it's useful to rule out the simple solutions before we all strain our noggins.

Thanks Steo for input. The Gamedata folder in Winrar- I right clicked and had it extracted to the Stalker folder in Program Files. Did I do this right? I also changed the first line to " true ". there is something just not right I will check tonight and see. Thanks again.

The file you have to change is fsgame.ltx but by the sounds of it, you've already done that. It should read:

$game_data$=true|true|$fs_root$|gamedata

Go into your stalker directory and make sure there is a folder called gamedata. Check that folder and make sure you have folders like config, anims, meshes, sounds etc.

I'd ignore the bit concerning r2_gloss_factor though. It's absolutely not needed unless you have a video card from the Cretaceous that doesn't support Shader Model 3.0.

Thanks, finally got it to work. Only one issue now- First Wolf Mission, I get CTD when we start to attack the camp.

Does it crash without the mod installed? Just rename your gamedata folder to something else, start a new game and try again. If it does crash without any mods, try re-installing and re-patching the game. If it doesn't crash, try re-installing the mod.

Thanks, first I deleted and made sure I erased all files and re-installed. Working great so far.
