Hellboy himself is the only character in the movies whose one-liners work for me. He's also pretty similar to the character in the books. Any other character that first and foremost is supposed to be funny (Lansing or the ectoplasm guy, for instance) fall flat for me.

Emo in parts but a lovely film, until the last 15 minutes or so then it just went all crappy.
Some Northern Irish accents just make me cringe when I hear them on TV or w/e. In real life I don't mind at all, but on radio or TV it just makes me want to hurt someone.

Just saw this and thought it was great.
My favourite part was when he was fighting Wink, and Hellboy says something like "let me put this in terms you can understand" and we're all like oooh one-liner this is gonna be great!! and then he totally gets punched in the face before he can say it, and we never get to hear what it was. And it doesn't even matter since there are a million more that come after it. The whole tone of the movie was very un-Hollywood, and even though a few portions didn't really make sense, as a whole I found it beautiful and engaging.

Great movie. This one & the first one. Definately a different feel to the first Hellboy but no less enjoyable for that. I found I had to watch it a couple of times to really get into it but once I did it was fantastic. Scenes I particularly enjoyed were Hellboy & Abe getting drunk & singing...lols, & the final fight between Hellboy & Nuada was well done.
Definately recommend watching.:thumb:
