Anyone playing this? By one of the Toms from Crate and Crowbar (I think it's a Tom).
It's like Hotline Miami in space with a cool space travel mechanic.
It's a little baffling though. If anyone could explain the character switch at the start or the Stash I'd be grateful.

Yeah, I've had a quick go, although DOS2 is still monopolising my time at the moment.
The switch at the start is to do with that character retiring and handing the reins to new blood on the newly liberated station, at which point she becomes a source of personal missions for them.
The stash is a little hard to work out at first, but anything you can't fit in your immediate inventory, send it to stash and it'll be available when you get back to the station. The stash is per character however, meaning if you die or are captured, your next character won't have access to the old one's stash.

Really? No one else?

Not yet! It looks great though, I'll get to it when I don't have a pile of other games on my plate.

It's an oddly-balanced thing. Right from the start you can pause at any time and line up your next action, you have infinite slow-mo, and some very powerful attacks. It almost feels like you're playing with cheat-modes on by default, but it's not long before you come up against an enemy who kills you so fast you don't even know how he did it. So it feels like, at the very start of the game, you're overpowered, but the enemies are also overpowered, so it all equals out, but you really gotta stay on your toes if you wanna get anything done. I'm 2 hours in now, liberated 3 stations, done a bunch of missions but so far I've yet to complete a Hard mission. Did manage to save up for the Personal Mission with one character but that one was filled with armored enemies who I couldn't put a dent in, so I didn't last long.
I'm mainly a wrench and concussion gun-guy. But I've found uses for some of the more exotic tools as well.
Anyway, I'm greatly enjoying it! This pause-time, slow-mo heavy, systems-driven gameplay is right up my alley.

Alternately laughing/gnashing teeth as I discover each new wrinkle in this game's systems.
I just placed a trap that teleports enemies into outer space when they walk into it. Took out two guards that way. Great! A short while later I'm walking back to my pod, carrying the unconscious NPC I'm being paid to kidnap, when I get to the hallway with the trap. "This thing won't teleport me outside the ship, will it?" I wonder. Only one way to find out! I walk into it, relieved to find myself still inside the ship. However the NPC I was carrying was not so lucky. He disappears from my shoulder and appears outside the ship. A few seconds later I get a Mission Failed notice because he's died. Well, shit.

Just one more post for tonight! And a video.
You have a lot of time manipulation options in this game. Pause-time and slow-mo, as I already mentioned, but there's also a Fast Forward button! That's something I never knew I wanted in a stealth game until now. Imagine you're playing Thief, sitting in the shadows observing guard patterns. What if you could hold down a FFWD to speed the process up and get the guards out of the way so you can just get on with the sneaking? Welp, that's very much what stealth in Heat Signature is like, and I'm digging it.

It's a fun game but it does get kind of repetitive. It's been months since I played, though, so I should see what's changed.

I can definitely see it getting repetitive. Just like Satellite Reign or Mafia 3 it's basically endless repetitions of the same 2 or 3 mission types, and the longevity depends on how much you're enjoying the core gameplay.
The biggest divergence from the basic formula so far was a Defector Mission, which locks you into a certain inventory and tasks you to finish the mission with only that. I had no offensive weapons in it, just a teleporter, and the whole mission was about sneaking in and rescuing a guy. Really forced me to play a in a different way than I previously had. It was first on that mission that I learned you can sneak up on guards and pickpocket them.

This is a great video that shows the kinda sci-fi madness you can get into.

Gotta admit I'd usually just give up in a situation like that, but then I haven't really gotten into the habit of visiting/swapping yet.
