Wha? I've been on government health care for 10 years and no government official, faceless or otherwise, has decided my care. They may have determined the policy that covers my care, but it's always been a doctor that made decisions directly affecting my treatment, hospitalizations, medications, and tests (did I miss anything?). Matter of fact, I've had more care options under Medicare than I ever did under private insurance, and less hassle about who/when/where/ and why I choose that option. Haven't had a single problem with them paying for anything.
