I was discussing the legality of such a clause IN A FUCKING MEMBERSHIP AGREEMENT already, when I got sidetracked by the rape/consent metaphor.
You were doing that BADLY, and the "sidetrack" of the rape consent metaphor was meant to illustrate just how badly you were doing so.
I wouldn't need to yell, if your ears weren't impeded by your ass cheeks.

Actually, that metaphor doesn't make one damned bit of sense, unless you totally misconstrue what I said first. If I'd said:
Quote:
What's illegal, is for the store to
require you to let them search your property
before they do it, because without consent it'd be an unlawful search.
Then this would make sense:
Quote:
That's like saying it's illegal for a dude to require consent from a girl before they have sex because without the consent it'd be rape.
But then, that whole sentence doesn't make sense, and of course it's also not what I meant, which was this:
Quote:
What's illegal, is for the store to
require you to let them search your property
before they let you out of the store.
And that, taken in context, should be perfectly clear. All that metaphor illustrated, was a bad reading comprehension.

There was no offense. The guy even let the officer see his receipt. The store had no reason to accuse him of stealing.
Key word in my sentence being
"possible".

Blah, Blah, Blah.
God, you're fucking thick. Just fucking quit.
Seriously, you have an admitted attorney and someone who just completed her first year of law school each pointing out that you're wrong, and you have the fucking audacity to argue?
Just accept that you don't know what you're talking about, and stop yammering before you make a further fool of yourself, mmmkay?

I've forgotten who's on my side and whether or not my side is correct.:(

Quote:
If something is illegal, any clause in an agreement that you sign doesn't make it legal. Instead, because it's illegal, such a clause would be invalid from the moment you signed it, and there'd be no need for you to even revoke it later.

Hell I thought the ballgame was over by the time I picked up the ball and threw it into left field or I would never have vented. Sorry about that.
Is it time for me to tell about when my brothers little friend wanted the lights atop a constables car and rigged a log to swing from a tree and knock them off as it drove by yet? No? Well it didn't work in a spectacularly bad way anyway.

I'm not sure which side I'm on... :o
Can't we all get along and peacefully debate the pros and cons of acting this way? The pros are that he upholds his interpretation of his legal rights in the face of what he sees as oppression. The cons are that he mucks up his day and gets a court record.

I already conceded i might be wrong one page ago. What else do you want? Golden letters in the sky? What is the fucking point you're trying to make here? That simile was retarded because it made no sense and addressed a point I didn't make. No amount of law school can change that.
