Time = 9pm.
A knock at my door.
Me: hastily throw some clothes on (it is Naked Monday after all).
Dude at the door: "I have something for you". Reaches into his massive oversized bag.
Its here!!

Step 1: charge this puppy.
Step 2: apps!
So do I leave this on at the mains all night? I really dont want to fuck the battery up, instead nurture it.

Just plug it in and turn it on!

Something kind of awesome that I've just checked out for myself after hearing about it: The 3D Photo Gallery application in Android 2.1 (possibly it's in 2.0 as well, I'm not sure) will not only index and display pictures on your phone's SD card, but your Picasa web galleries, too (if only Google would link your Picasa gallery storage to your GMail storage. Nearly 8 gigs of storage for e-mail, but only 1 gig for pictures? Seriously?).

This update is so good it's like having a new phone. Google weren't lying when theythey said it increases the speed alot.

Triple post. Hmmm, must be a first for me.
Aaaaanyways... Everything is faster and there are new widgets and things. The browser is much faster and you can DL the Flash 10 beta for it. Kongregate had loads of flash games that are fun distractions. You can now also install apps to the SD card, which is nice as I had started running low on space for apps, even though that was mainly because I had to try everything interesting I saw.
This update really has re-invigorated the phone and given it's already such an essential gadget for me now I'm just loving it more and more. What on earth did we do without these things? I see people with older less able phone and I just don't get how you can go without one. I never thought I'd be so dependent/gushing over something like this and I now finally get what all the iPhone crew have been spunking over all this time. :)
I've been reading a lot about the Flash slowing the browser down, which it does, and articles on whether or not it's therefore worth having it. Thing is you can turn it off and you can also, importantly, have it on demand (which I have) so it makes no difference unless you activate it - the argument is moot. Android vs iPhone has become yet another idiot fanboy battleground and it seems that many iPhone users can't help but put their "See, Jobs was right" oar in where is doesn't fit.

But Jobs was right
:(

No he wasn't. With Flash on the browser is slower, but it's still faster than loads of browsers on other phones I've seen - it's about the same as the Android 2.1 browser. Remember - the FroYo (2.2) browser is THE fastest mobile browser so you have to put things in perspective. And Flash10.1 is a beta so, you know, post-optimisation we might see even more difference.
