Turn by turn navigation has arrived for Android in the UK. I missed my turn on the way home and so sparked up Maps (with Spotify playing over the FM transmitter to the stereo, natch) and there it was - the "Navigate" option. I had to stick the satellite layer on for funs and yes, this is great.
I also have a HTC Desire arriving any day now. I've played with one already and although its nice I say meh to Sense. Its certainly slower than a Nexus and considering they both have the same Android OS (2.1/Eclair) they only thing I can think of is Sense slowing it down. I understand there is the option to turn Sense off but even then it's about twice the weight (maybe it has a better battery - the Nexus has to be charged overnight usually) and the buttons are the same HTC Hero rubbish.
I'm selling it so if anyone is interested...

I hope that the leaked iPhone 4 pics are genuine, because I am excited about them.

Well that's just a Nexus One in another set of clothes and some fancy makeup/GUI isn't it? It's the US version the Desire, no?
Apart from Sense I reckon it will be better than the Nexus One because the Nexus seems prone to some issues - forced closing of programs (basically a crash) and the screen calibration needs to be reset by powering on and off every so often. I feel that this has only happened after the multitouch update thing - I'm not sure if I'm accidentally "confusing" it somehow.
Other than that... Welcome to Android \o/
now make some apps

The Incredible is basically a Nexus One with slightly better hardware (superior camera and touch screen) and Sense UI. Reviews have pegged it as the best Android phone on the market, although it tends to blow through its battery quicker than desired. And I'm sold on Sense UI, frankly, after seeing it in action.
So yeah, serious app talk coming soon.

Thanks to the hard work of the Android programming community I'm finally running Android 2.1 on my G1, and it is pretty god damn sexy. Lacks speech-to-text on all text entry fields and the 3D app tray effect, but it does have Live Wallpapers, the 3D Gallery, the swooshy zoom-out effect when returning to Home from within an application, and I can activate Navigation by hitting the voice search button and saying 'Navigate to...' (but it's impossible to get Google Earth Mobile to work on it, alas). And the whole thing actually runs faster than the 1.6 based rom I was running previously. Now I just need to get a bigger microSD card and set up apps2sd.

I fucking love this phone. App talk to undoubtedly commence once I fully get off the training wheels.

Can someone tell me what smartphones have or don't have sim cards? I ask because they interfere with my hearing aid making it impossible to use the phone, and I'm thinking of asking BVR to help pay for a new phone because I can sell it to them as a PDA to help keep track of dates and whatnot, which has been a sticking point with them.
