Heya.
In Hong Kong, I've just been through the Versalife facility and my goal is to 'meet with the two triad leaders and cement an alliance' - however when I go there the story refuses to proceed. Chen simply tells me that a truce has been reached, and I can't talk to Quick. The goal does not get marked as completed.
It there something I have to do in the story before I can do this, or is this a bug? If this is a bug, then does anyone know where a patch or fix for it is?
Thanks,
Mobyseven

This actually just happened to me last night. I got a hankerin' to play DX again for the first time in years, and this is the first time that bug's happened to me. It turned out to solve itself after I went down to talk to Tong in the compound's underground. He said "What are you doing here? you should go meet with the guys in the temple.." and I said "GODDAMNIT I WAS JUST THERE" and ran back.
When I got back up, Quick had left his place by the doors and was in the temple where he's supposed to be, and the whole scene played out properly. I guess switching maps shifted the bug.
So try that.
And while I'm talking about odd bugs, I am currently in Paris with the "Send the NSF distress call" goal still unchecked. I got my points for sending the distress signal, and the place went angry on me, but for some reason it never ticked off my List Of Things To Do.
I think it's because -- for the first time ever -- I didn't fully align the satellite dishes before trying to broadcast. Then, once I got complained at for doing it wrong, I aligned the dishes properly... but before I could go resend the signal, the commlink blew up with angriness anyway. So it all went fine from there.

I'll try changing maps....
Where is Gordon supposed to be for the scene to play out? Because in my game, he's already in the temple, opposite Chen on the other side of the table, and they're facing away from eachother....
Thanks for your help, I'll be back with more details of the bug if it doesn't work.

That's the right place. Try switching maps as GBM suggested.

Dunno, now it sounds different... My problem was that Gordon was in the doorway of the compound, on guard as usual, and wouldn't respond to me talking to him. Once I'd gone and bugged Tong for a bit, Gordon was gone from his post and happily bothering the monk in the temple.

It's happened to me as well. Know bug apparently. To make sure it does not happen, just align the dishes before your first try at sending the signal. Well, for your next run, anyway.

Well, yeah. Like I say, this is the first time in about 8 plays that I didn't align the dishes properly first.

Restting the map by seeing Tong doesn't work. What is supposed to happen when I enter the temple - is a cutscene supposed to occur automatically, or do I have to talk to soomeone? At the moment, I can enter the temple, and I can talk to Chen (he says two things - 'It is decided. There will be a truce.' and 'We will share the sword and manage Hong Kong together.'), and I can talk to the monk, not that he's any use; can't talk to Gordon - he just stands there looking straight at me like a stunned mullet.
Any more ideas, or any idea of where I can go to find out more info?

It's Gordon that triggers the cutscene / conversation. Either by you getting near him or actually frobbing him, I don't remember. But it sounds like you've tried both things.
So, um. I'm not sure what to suggest...
Have you got a previous save at a resonably recent point? It sucks to have to replay bits when it's not your fault, but sometimes there's nothing else to do.

You could see if there's a flag in the legend which you can reset. I remember Dr. Dumb_lunatic offering a bit of insight on legend flags, maybe he knows offhand. If not, I'll take a look at one of my Hong Kong savegames and see if I can find which flag affects the meeting in the temple. If you don't know what a legend flag is, use turn on cheats and type legend at the command prompt.
