Have you ever had a dream that... - by Ringer

I had the craziest dream I've ever had this morning. For some reason I was watching the Tim Burton Planet of the Apes movie, and it was GOOD. Like, REALLY GOOD. There were significant differences between my in-dream version and the real one, (alas, I can't remember what they were) so it wasn't like I was dreaming with rose coloured corneal implants or anything. I have no idea why it was even in my subconscious to begin with.

I have this pretty deep rooted dream about being able to peddle through the air, funny thing is its not a dream when i sleep, its like im suddenly remebering/awakening something like a memory of doing it .Its very powerful and never fails to fuck me up

I had a very vivid dream that only came back to me later in the day. I was standing on the roof of a building, next to a lake, sea, or some other body of water. I'd almost say it was a lagoon because earlier in the daytime I had found a map of an island surrounding a lagoon, and it wouldn't be the first time that things that had occupied my mind for a brief while come back in dreams - and it's usually the things that I don't spend a long time thinking about, but only consider for a moment or two.
Anyway, there was a plane circling around as they do before they make the final approach to land, only on the last turn it suddenly dived right down into the water. Being a dream though, it was curiously peaceful, there was no mad spinning out of control and no splashes or explosions to speak of. It just glided peacefully and unexpectedly into the water, never to be seen again. It gave me a feeling which can best be described as "oh shit", the feeling that something you've just seen out of nowhere is suddenly a huge event, which was cool.
I also remember a fragment later on where people were out in boats searching for survivors, but I don't recall them finding any. And it was not the main part of the dream either, but I can't remember what I was doing other than observing.

Dreams are great. I like cheese induced dreams and I recently read some research suggesting that the type of cheese you eat can alter the nature of your dream. It's no exact but in each case over 50% of people reported, for example, flying in their dream after they ate Stilton. And for some cheeses it was more like 75% reported dreams of type X.
I must experiment now.
And Lightfall - that getting up for work dream sounds like it really, really sucks. Good luck with it. shivers

I've heard about that and I had thought that eating cheese would cause nightmares. I wonder what Jarlsberg would do.
Once I woke up, went to the living room, turned on the t.v, and got myself a drink and a smoke. Then I woke up. Very weird to be dreaming of waking up. And what gives..I don't drink or smoke, it was like a really depressing look into my future maybe.
I hate when you have such a vivid dream where you get something you really want, wake up and for a while you think you still have it until it hits you that you dreamed it. Such a let-down.

I'm particularly interested in what dreams you have after consuming knob cheese ;)

I often have dreams where I'm simply reading a book, for what seems like a very long time. I swear I am reading printed words, sentences, chapters, plots, characters, all making sense, which my brain is apparently making up as I go. Sort of writing and reading at the same time. Although I can never remember the content of the book after I wake up, I have the persistant feeling of having experienced a coherent, structured text. Did I? Or did I just dream that it made sense?

Reading
To dream that you are reading, signifies that you need to obtain more information or knowledge before making a decision. You should review your thoughts, think things through and consider other options. To dream that you or someone is reading incoherently, signifies worries and disappointments.

No offence, but isn't this generalised dream interpretation stuff acknowledged as bullshit?
