Almost all the games people have mentioned I've played at least some of, in some cases just the demos (e.g.
Magic Carpet). I've not played any of the
Eye of the Beholder games either, though I'd still like to remedy that at some point. The genre I've probably played least of is RTS; all the ones I've played (
Command & Conquer,
Red Alert,
Warcraft 3) I simply didn't enjoy enough to finish any of them, so at a certain point I decided that obviously RTS wasn't for me.

There's probably
loads more that you lot would be shocked to hear I've never played, but at the same time, I bet I've played some games I consider important that very few here have played.
Which ones were you thinking of?

I've never played a Mega Man game, or Lemmings, or Ghosts 'n Goblins. I'm also keeping it that way, because I'm a stubborn bastard.
While we're piling on the shame, I might as well add that while I've booted up Thief: Gold plenty of times, I have never finished it. I have no idea why, because I like Thief: Gold. Thief 2 was great, 3 was decent, and SS1/2 were pretty damn good, so any sane person who'd experienced those would have done the run up to Constantine and back by now.
But I'm good. My Garrett's still skulking around Bafford's. And I'm happy to keep him there.

I've never played any Mario game after (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03udgQDpQSA) this one and also never managed to get into the Zelda game - although I've given "A Link to the Past" a shot a few times. Never owning a console before the Wii probably has a big part to play in that. The Final Fantasy games also passed me by completely for pretty much the same reason although I realise there are now PC ports available.

Not seeing Star Wars is bad enough, but no Indy Jones? I fee like I need an explanation on that.
I've never seen Indiana Jones. It's because I'm afraid of spiders, a fear that started after I watched the video this GIF is from.

Did you play Bloodborne Tony (same question to Henke actually)?
Because there is one boss in that I saw on YouTube (wish I owned a PS3/4) which would be pretty bad for arachnophobes and I'd be curious to know what happened to you.

Which ones were you thinking of?
Rebelstar and the original Laser Squad on the Speccy, wot Julian Gollop did after Chaos and before X-Com.
Bloodwych on the ST, a split-screen, two-player version of Dungeon Master that even had primitive deathmatch.
The entire Myth series, including what I regard as the under-rated third game.
Tempest 2000 on the Jaguar.
Zero Tolerance on the Megadrive, an admirably passable FPS for an underpowered system that even had some cool features that Doom didn't have at the time, such as active wall decals like blood and bullet holes.
Starglider. Oh, how I loved Starglider. I'd spend hours playing it while listening to Mr. Mister's "Welcome to the Real World".
Voyager for ST.
Atic Atac, probably my first example of a favourite game on a platform I owned, and certainly the first game I "completed".
Mercenary and Sword of Damocles, which I poured hours into, but never really understood what I was supposed to be doing. Looking back, I think these have a plausible claim to be the world's first "immersive sims".
Colony on the Speccy, one of those wonderful £1.99 games I got so much out of, a farming game that came out
ten years before Harvest Moon.

You don't even really need to see them.
Yes, you do. Go rent/download
Raiders of the Lost Ark right now.

Just remember, there is no such thing as a fourth Indiana Jones movie.
Nope, didn't happen.

I can't believe I went to the cinema for that.

Haven't played GTA 4 and 5. I was never really a fan of the series going 3D. There was something in the old games for me that I can't quite put my finger on that I don't think carried over well. I don't know if it was the tone or not being able to drive over a row of Elvis impersonators or what, but the 3D games never felt quite as good. I do like Saint's Row, though.
Haven't played WoW. The gameplay just looks incredibly tedious. I also quit SWTOR when I reached level 10 for the same reason.
Haven't played Team Fortress or Left 4 Dead or Counterstrike or Overwatch or LoL or any other team based/multiplayer only games since Quake 3. There aren't really many people my age that play games around here (especially competitive ones) and playing with random strangers over the internet is not really my idea of fun.
Haven't played Wing Commander or any space sim games. I have always been told that these games are really properly played with a joystick and I never had one of those.
Haven't played The Sims. I don't really know why.
Haven't played Minecraft for more than an hour. I tried it once and never went back. I do like Terraria, though.
Haven't played EVE Online or Dwarf Fortress. The learning curve cliff just looks too steep.
Haven't played Bloodborne, Journey and a bunch of other recent-ish console exclusives. I stopped being a console gamer after PS2 and I don't currently know anyone with a console that I could borrow.
Haven't played a lot of the big JRPGs: Megaten, Dragon Quest, Tengai Makyou (Far East of Eden), Suikoden, Xenosaga, Xenogears, Suikoden, Tales of ... series. Slowly working on it.
Haven't played Dead Space 3, Mass Effect 3 or Dragon Age Inquisition because I got tired of the bullshit business practices of EA.
Never played Guitar Hero or any of the derivatives. Frankly, I'd rather learn a real instrument than play pretend.
