I'm not really a betting man. But if I was... I'd be putting my money down on most people not really caring what happens to this man or even what he does anymore (after leading the team that made DX:IW) as long as it doesn't involve him going near anymore well known & well liked pc game franchises. The public opinion of him from what I've seen on these boards & others isn't all that great at the moment.

Oh, please bet, Neddy. I'll gladly take all of your money.
I know it's tempting to pin the relative fiasco of DX:IW on Harvey, but that's stupidness and I think you know it.
Here's the future of Harvey Smith:
a) Funding
b) Harvey Smith's Super Games Inc
c) workworkworkworkwork
d) Ass-kicking brave new game, unfettered by suits with charts and market strategies, and full of freshness and fun

GBM, I know it's a whole lot to ask. But would you be so kind as to point out in my post where exactly I said he was to blame for the fiasco that is DX:IW? *insert a tsktsk or a rolleyes smilie here at your leisure if you wish*
All I basically said is that from what I cans see... the public opinion of him isn't so high. That is what I would be betting on & the odds of you taking my money based on that bet are not as high as you think (more like 50/50, since many haven't voiced their opinion of the game).

Give it a rest.
What did you mean by "I'd be putting my money down on most people not really caring what happens to this man or even what he does anymore (after leading the team that made DX:IW) as long as it doesn't involve him going near anymore well known & well liked pc game franchises" then?
Did you mean "Gee, it's a nice day" or "I think the Atlanta Braves are a wonderful baseball team"?

Read "on most people" very carefully GBM (meaning I never stated that I agreed with it). And what I meant should be obvious by my second post (if the first wasn't obvious enough):
All I basically said is that from what I cans see... the public opinion of him isn't so high.
Basically from what I see, a majority of people are not happy with the guy (even if it is stupid to blame him for everything that was wrong with DX:IW).

However, it's interesting to observe differences between "Randy Smith leaves" and "Harvey Smith leaves" threads.
Of course, since DXIW was released, it seems that many DX fans also lost their interest in DX GenDisc.

That was the point I was trying to make BR796164. Beside GBM jumping the gun over a little observation... this thread has been relatively quite. Not so with threads dedicated to Randy which all have been jumping with activity. Now I'll admit that maybe you could right that off because Harvey left voluntarily & Randy possibly did not. But you have to admit that it does say a little bit about how the community feels about the two.
