Yeah, he's well aware of the varying standards, or at least he thinks he is. He's got buddies who have had work done in varying places, some good stories, some not so good.
Anyway, Happy New Year to everyone. 2022 was a long year. My wife and I weren't feeling celebratory. For once, we didn't travel, or have friends over, light fireworks, go skiing, cook a big meal, drink Champagne or Prosecco, or stay up till midnight. We made pizza with the kids, then played Monopoly next to the fire, with episodes of Family Ties on the TV in the background, and we all went to bed at 10. It was nostalgic and nice.

Thanks, Tocky. Same to you!
My wife goes for a diagnostic procedure in a couple of days that we've been trying to get resolved for a while now (since 2021!) but it's been a shitshow from the beginning. The doctors here just want to pat you on the head and tell you it will be okay and to come back to see them when you're actually dying.
"Preventative measures?! What are those? You're not dying? Next, please!!"Wish us luck. Hopefully it's nothing. Otherwise, some heads are gonna roll. Meanwhile, I've got an acre of land to un-decorate.. Wanna see what it looked like?? :-)

The MRI she had today shows that it has returned to its previous largest size 2.5x2.8cm, so it's not going away on its own and seems set on enlarging without stopping; it has been drained twice now. She has an appointment in 6 months (6 MONTHS!) to talk with the doctor about options regarding surgical removal, but I don't think she will wait that long. In fact, I know she won't be able to. The one time they did an actual biopsy on it, it was benign.. but that was over a year and a half ago. Just the fact that it keeps returning and enlarging, and that it's on the "safest" part of the pancreas, I know she will want to have it removed at the first possible chance that they will do it.
