I've been playing this game still to this day. Just wait till next year when Thief 2: The Metal Age celebrates it's 20th Tafferversary!

The game I enjoyed the most on the series. Such beautiful graphics at the time... That gloom inside the rooms....[emoji5]

Has its flaws (including the "body awareness" movement style) but still a great game. And has The Cradle ever been surpassed as a standalone horror level? Well if it has, it must surely still be right up there.

Yeah, true. Just like every computer game, it will always have it's flaws, but that's why updates to the game can fix most of the glitches. I'm not sure, sorry.

And that beautiful loot glint... ah! :p
I always thought that TDS is a good game and a worthy sequel to T2. The body awareness thing never really bothered me, the lack of rope arrows isn't a big deal either, and I didn't mind the new visual style. It's odd that Garrett has suddenly forgotten how to swim, but I only see that as a positive thing - the swimming bits in T1 and T2 were terrible. The loading zones were somewhat annoying of course, but wasn't there some sort of a mod a few years ago that kind of removes the loading zones? So I genuinely still haven't figured out why TDS gets so much hate, but let's not start that discussion again. :D TDS does have its flaws (but so do the other games in the Thief series) of course, but at its core TDS is still very much a Thief game in my opinion.

The body awareness is usually not a problem except for when on high beams. When Garrett will take a dangerous lurch to the left or right before correcting himself and moving in the direction you were actually facing.
Sorry don't mean to dwell on the flaws (but while we are here, the skin change for the haunts made them less scary IMO) - this truly was a great game.
As for the loading zones, it is T3Gold that removes them. This mod comes as part of SneakyUpgrade.
