Originally posted by epithumiaYes, I roped down and threw a switch which triggered three burricks and opened a small shaft. I fell down the shaft into a room with water wheels and one patrolling guard. I disposed of the guard, read the scroll on the wall and went through the doors that opened. The mission ended there.
Even though I have the medallion, the mission won't end for me when I reach this area. I'll consider it finished though.

Looks like you're gonna have to play it again to see if you're still sane.:cheeky: I'm curious of the outcome.

Perfect loot scores are awesome, but sadly pretty rare for me.

After the mission ended I tried to go back to slash a banner (now that I had the sword) and could not jump out of the elevator with the aqua floor. Did anyone have this problem and solve it? Also, when falling down the "chute" from where the burricks are shortly before the end, how does one get into that room with the throne you can see as you fall down the chute?
Just finished this fm and found it to be very very entertaining. All new interiors, for me at least, and first rate. Sorry to read some people bashing this fm. When you can't read the objectives and/or books, I wonder how anyone can assess the logic in an fm. I usually forget what the dang objectives are anyway when I get really engrossed in just exploring as I did in this one. Also, when you play on expert you should expect it to be difficult and challenging.
Despite the language barrier, I would highly recommend this fm. Don't bypass it just because you don't undertand Japanese.

joanieS, if the elevator you're talking about is the one that once you take it down you see a skeleton (half of it outside water) and 3 statues, then you should be able to jump out of it without a problem. As for that small room with the throne, damn do i remember that! In theory you should be able to get in it because if you drop Garrett from large heights, with the right timing he can mantle into ledges even it seems very difficult. In that case, it's easier said than done. For some reason he can't mantle up. If you simply run forward and drop down, chances are that you will hit the wall and he will bounce back just a little bit so he'll be a bit further away from the ledge than he would need to (that's how the Dark Engine's physics work).
The best chance to grab the ledge would be to either walk very slowly, or sidestep on the edge and then drop, or put Garrett in reverse, drop him then turn 180 degress and try to mantle. :joke: I remember very clearly that i managed to just hit the edge 3 times and at least 5 times, he made that characteristic sound that he does when he mantles up but because i was pressing the jump button very fast, he would fall to the water. Seems a bit of a hit and miss but i think it can be done. By the Builder, i might try it again myself.

Finished on Normal in 1 hour and 37 minutes with
150 of
292 total loot. The only two pieces of loot I found were
a golden chalice worth 100 around the one-hour mark and a golden bottle worth 50 in the final room.
Very long and linear. Not the most complex architecture, but well built and relatively good-looking for a T1 mission.
Wish I could read Japanese. There seems to be a plot, but I have no idea what it is about. Something to do with a Keeper medallion and a haunting in a Hammerite compound probably.
Three areas where you might get stuck:
* In the first chapel near the beginning of the mission:
There is a hole in the ceiling of one the side rooms on the left side from where you enter, up a set of stairs.* In a dead end with an obvious secret door at the end:
There is a water arrow in the water puddle on the floor of this corridor. Use it to extinguish the torch next to the secret door.* In the room behind the secret door:
You should get a key if you frob a painting that highlights when you stand near it. The key is hidden inside the painting.Quote Posted by epithumia
OK, the Japanese missions so far have been pretty strange. However, while browsing (
http://www5d.biglobe.ne.jp/~thief-z/) JIS's web page I found my mind unable to consider how strange "Shinjuku Toilet EX" might be. I mean, come on!
I will admit an urge to play GasExplosion, however. Unfortunately these missions don't seem to be downloadable from anywhere.
"Shinjuku Toilet EX" and "GasExplosion": Are those lost missions? Or were they released with a different title? I read there is a prominently placed toilet in "D" (Thief 2).
