There is a certain cadence to the combat between shooting, melee, and throwing grenades which makes for a satisfying experience. Although it's been a while since I've played, I had a blast playing through the first in coop with my brother growing up.

I remember the first Halo being like that, having to strategize from moment to moment and it being satisfying. The issue was that the strategizing took place in giant, mostly empty levels.
Oh god, yeah - remember the library? That was the worst. Endless identical corridors.
Co-op is the one thing I would be interested in. I wonder if these ports will have local co-op. Why is it that when PC ports include co-op, it's usually one or the other? There are so few games I have where I can co-op both local and online.

This will sell like hotcakes which will convince them to port Halo 5 as well. And then I really will have no reason to get an XBone.

There was ever a reason to buy an Xbox?

Even if we don't get Halo 5 though, from what I hear we won't be missing out on much.

Known as Kodi these days. And yes, a modded oXbox was awesome in the mid-late 2000's. It let you switch a PAL Xbox into NTSC to play 90% of games in progressive scan or 720p/1080i (which were disabled in PAL mode for some arbitrary reason).
Running emulators and playing back downloaded videos on a large screen TV in the lounge was glorious back then.

Nice. Got one over PS2's there then. You could mod a ps2, and have emulators but not all in the one place, nor the new screen options.
