Not as bad as wcz. The beer, żywiec, is pronounced ziv-ee-ets. There are three different ways of saying the letter z too. I suppose the main source of confusion is that letters are often said in a completely different way to the germanic or latin languages. At least with russian you've got a completely different alphabet to point out that you're dealing with completely different sounds.

Just wanted to point out that zywiec (don't know how to do the required special characters) is a brand of beer, whereas "beer" is "piwo" in Polish.
