:o For starters, this is for the PC types, it involves a plugin, I use the Mr. Big plugin, he always buys goodies with a base of 100,000 cash, so he can pay for those high-priced goods.
In a matter of a few hours playing time, I have accumulated 560,000 drakes. I did wipe out alot of ordinators, and rob alot of the vaults in Vivec to get it all, but it can be done.
I am comtemplating going for millionaire status just for kicks. This is raw cash folks, liquid assets, not counting things like the 80,000 drake ebony longsword just laying on the table in my Balmora digs. I killed off all the ordinators in the floating prison, and sold their gear. Only occaisonally did I get a bounty for the dirty deeds. But with the money you make for the armor's sale, you can afford to pay the bounty. Spread your cash around, If you bribe folks up to 100 they give you the best prices in barter, this includes everyone, Silt strider operators, travel mages, etc. etc.
I also repair everything I take off a dead body prior to selling it, I hack their gear up pretty bad killing them off. You get top dollar for things in good shape. I realize these things are common knowledge to most folks but there seems to be alot of newbies about:joke: !

If you don't mind me saying: How absolutely stupid, first you cheat by making a inbalanced merchant, then you accumulate a lot of money. And how do you use the money? You bribe mechants so that they give you high prices. You throw a few thousand at them and then sell your gear. Waste of money and dumb.

Well, no offense, but of course it can be done with a plugin.
The tough part would be doing it with no plugins, no mods, no bugs (i.e. the "Unlimited Money" bug involving the Hlaalo Manor murder) and no cheating.
I suspect it would involve a lot of patience, a lot of waiting 24 hours for merchants to refresh their money, a lot of Creeper, and a lot of Talking Mudcrab.

by the end of my fighter game in BG2 i had around 300,000 gold.....most i've ever gotten in an rpg, though one time my brother broke the million mark in diablo.
oh, and i'm not counting any final fantasies (i.e. selling a master all materia for 1.5 million gil)

Rant mode on:
 Dumb? I say again, dumb? No, dumb is programming a game that has items that you can't sell to anyone because no one in the game has enough cash on hand to pay the idiotic price the programmer placed on the item. What purpose does a price serve, if no one can afford to purchase it? I purchased this game, so I can play it any way I desire, and you have no right to presume anything I do as dumb. Dumb is believing that a game straight out of the box will be without bugs, will not go through a handful of revisions, will not lock up at the most inopportune times. Dumb is thinking the game will run on your machine when you don't meet the minimum specs. Dumb is playing for hours without saving the game. Dumb is calling what others do, dumb, without considering that maybe they don't have to hold to the standards you "judge" things by.
I did not write the Mr. big plugin, but I use it, I think it's dumb to spend days on end pulling some idotic scam with a scamp or a mudcrab, that you wouldn't get away with on a real human more than once, without the individual deciding to break a few bones. Individuals on these forums have played the game for over a hundred hours just to finish the main quest much less anything else. The game states right on the box, play any way you like, well that's exactly what I'm doing, only I prefer not to spend hours on end manipulating some non-human character to purchase an item with an exhorbatent price. Dumb? My :ebil: !!!

Opinions are like a$$holes, everyone has one and it usually stinks!

The -whole point- of those 'overpriced' items is that you are not supposed to sell them. You use a 100K merchant when previously, the most moneyed merchant had 10K, and you say you are not cheating? Give me a break. Yes, you are dumb.
Odin_13 on 29/7/2002 at 06:49
I didn't realize you were my priest and this was a confession Skronk. Show me where I asked if this were cheating. Ask me if I care whether or not you think it's cheating. Jeesh, Help! the thought police are rampant! I'll go & delete all my save games now Mr. skronk! I won't do it again Mr. Skronk!:bored: :bored: :bored:
