Duke3D was my first LAN experience as well. At the vocational school I went in the late 90's I was the only one who had mastered playing FPS's with mouse and keyboard so I really wiped the floor with my classmates. :cool:

DN3D had one of the best level-building communities out there. I spent months playing through them, and that was only a small sample of all the incredible stuff that was out there. (Among several hundred other maps about someone's school or house.)

It was the first I saw that allowed for in-game level editing and immediate testing. Loved that.
