In Plot 0, "all plot elements are removed". This means no locked doors, access to every level, and no objectives. You can go straight to the bridge and head on into SHODAN's chambers to win the game.
In Plot 1, a few logs are removed, chiefly the ones that describe some miscellaneous elements of Plot 2 (such as the CNU's relay 428 failure). Some doors are unlocked in Plot 1, and you don't have to go around the station as much to do some other stuff.

Who needs drugs when you've got SS1? :D:D:D Just returned from blasting Shodan into infinity, I'm in heaven right now. The cortex reaver seems to need one hell of a beating before it dies, 5 hits, although this is during the same game and on the same level where a CYBORG ASSASSIN needed 3 hits from the laser rapier before going down like a tree. :weird:
Since I'm bored, here's my stats on that game, I think I did okay for not playing the game in half a year . . .
Time: 7:23:36
Kills: 640
Regenerations: 103
Difficulty index: 31
Score: 1,425,275

Only 7 1/2 hours? Not bad!

Before I went on my psychotic speed run I think my best time was 7:10 or so, so it isn't all that bad I suppose. I cleared out all the decks and explored every nook and cranny, so I think I didn't do so bad. :)

Check the "What's the Use of Healing" thread for some screenshots... I just ran a 6:13 full explore/clear run on diff 36 (max). I think I might try a pure speed run next.

I'm not at all saying it's a good time, it's not bad for my return appearance is all. My best time through the game is 3 1/2 hours with a difficulty index of 36, I'm a bit worried it may be one of the best. :erm: Wanna try to beat it? :D;)

I only made two speedruns. The best was just over 4 hours with difficulty index 36. I avoided listening to logs to save time. It was nowhere near as fun, and I'll never play like that again.

It was like that for me too. When all that's on your mind is how to get to Point B as fast as inhumanely possible, Citadel looses some of its charm, so to speak. Much more fun to take your time and savor the sights, and explore every nook and cranny, and trigger every single trap.

Strange that, Speedruns have a worse effect on SS1 than SS2. I didn't mind SS2 speedrunning (Only bothered to get to Hydro, but still...)
PS - I wonder how long it'll take me to get around to finishing my wrench-only? I'm going to be sucked into Half Life 2 for a while now...

Some games just aren't suited to speedruns as much as others. SS1 & 2 are good examples. Firstly, their technology is unfriendly - demo recording is difficult, timing is a problem. Secondly, there aren't really many ways to exploit them in order to speed things up. Ie no real ways of making you go faster than the designers envisaged. Certainly, in SS2 the quickest way seems to be to get Invis PSI as soon as possible, and then just miss out huge sections - you don't even need to fight - and that's not particularly interesting, because the main purpose of speedruns is to show off. I've been trying a proper, planned speedrun of SS2, but my damn mouse is playing up, and there's no way I can do it with a touchpad.
