LOL! I was going to post "pulser*" yesterday as a correction, but thought better of it in case there was a British version with a different spelling. :p

And SS2's rapier bytes. You just don't want to set off anther shard war, do you...
Agreed, the LR is not worthy of sharing the godly weapon from Citadel's name.
Although I do think that the Shard rocks. In my Melee only game anyway (Now in the shuttle bays screaming profanities as Tommy and Rebecca leave without me
again)

I'd forgotten just how tough the laser rapier from SS1 is. I'm having trouble finding something that can withstand more than 3 hits from it, even the crystal shard can need more than that at times.
Hang in there, Shevers!:thumb:

On the flip side, the Assault Rifle in SS1 is pants compared to its glorious power in SS2.
Trance on 22/12/2004 at 20:12
Which is why SS1 has weapons of all shapes and sizes. When all else fails, the Railgun is an awesome weapon, if not to kill monsters then just to fuck around.

I think there's a critter which might take three, or even four, blows from the rapier. Of course, I haven't messed with the berserk patches, which would probably make the thing stronger still.
Combined with the speed boost, it's an exceptional weapon. However, that plan often goes awry. I've been known to get thrown of a ledge by the boost, and run around the map at an extreme speed, randomly swinging the rapier and trying to turn the boost off, whilst many robots and cyborgs burble at me.
It takes ages to find all the corpses lying around afterwards.

If any monster could withstand that many rapier hits, it would most likely be a Security-2 Bot. Nasty as can be.
Never tried to go toe-to-toe with an Elite Cyborg before, so I couldn't tell you how many hits those guys could stand.
TheNightTerror on 23/12/2004 at 11:57
Shockingly enough, I'm not sure how many hits the elite cyborgs take, but I know the security 2 bots usually only need 2 or 3 hits, maybe 4 on a bad day.

I found one Earthshaker to work equally well :ebil:
But I'm surprised you don't know how many LR hits an Elite Cyborg takes! My whole belief system is crumbling now... :(
TheNightTerror on 23/12/2004 at 12:53
Hey, don't let your belief system crumble! :D I haven't actually sat down and really played it in half a year. Of course I'd forget! Plus I haven't slept and the alcohol and all that. :p
