I see alot of freaking about global warming and not alot of action.
So tell me...what should I do to stop global warming? why do I hate global-warming activists? they all want the government to bail us out, which leads to more regulations and also more taxation.
So again I ask, what should I do???????? I ride a motorcycle as my primary and only vehicle which gets 50 - 60 miles per gallon, I turn off the lights when I'm not home, asleep, or it's sunny out, and I don't use the AC unless absolutly necessary, but I still see everybody else driving 28 cylinder SUV's.
Check back when the situation is urgent enough for the general population to care because it's going to take a few years and until then you're all just wasting time.
Cheers
~Tim
- P.S. I like how your article's author is one of the most left-winged people i've ever come across, even the few pictures on his webpage flaunt anti-bush slogans such as "our president is an idiot, we didn't vote for him," and "how can 59,054,087 people be so stupid?" with a picture of bush. Real objective source there m8

Well its 16 degrees and ass deep snow here, I say there's not enough global warming!
That's why it's called global warming, not local warming.

Never mind the global warming. Think of the (
http://www.canwesavetheworld.com/uk/reduce-electricity-leakage.html) money you'll save yourself by turning the plugs off at the switches, by turning your monitor off so that irritating little light isn't blinking, using the off switch on the telly rather than the zapper etc. etc.
I mean that's almost a halfway decent graphics card, or extra memory or something.

No they don't.
And even if they did, this is far bigger than regulations and taxes.

proof? I have lots of freinds who are really concerned, most say that the government really needs to force people to be more econmically responsible by artificially raising gas prices a few bucks, it must be a college thing, lucky for us these are the people who will be making the calls in a few years.
btw funny that you downplay democracy as 'unimportant'

It's rather more complicated than that. While it's essential that everyone puts some effort in, there are a number of aspects in which government is inextricably involved. Besides the obvious need for the state to prefer to conduct its regular business in a manner that produces less of the greenhouse gases, urban planning and road/rail building and maintenance have a significant effect. The design of cities has a strong influence on whether people will prefer public transport or cars. Furthermore, a government that pays for the construction and maintenance of roads (but not railways) is in effect subsidising the use of roads for freight - the trucking companies are getting a better deal on the use of the roads than a rail company would on building the railways themselves. There's also the potential problem where the government doesn't build an effective rail network - in this case, the trains simply can't reach the places people want to go (or can't get there in a reasonable time, or in sufficient numbers to meet demand). And, of course, someone needs to give businesses a good arse-kicking if they're being overly wasteful. A lot of shops leave their lights on overnight, for example.

Compared to global warming, it is.

So if you were a pilgrim you would be happy living in England without global warming than America with the possibility of citizens who will eventually care enough to change global warming when it actually becomes an issue? get the fuck out of my country
