Would someone be able to help me with this? Since I have purchased a used system so I can play Thief 2 FMs on, I can not seem to get this to work for me. I have followed the instructions as per say, but for some reason it does not work.
When I try to check the files, Thief.exe and Thief.icd with notepad they wont seem to open and seem to crash on me. I have tried to follow the instructions from this website,
(
http://www.thief-thecircle.com/guides/hyperthreading/)
but it does not seem to work with the way it follows, perhaps someone already has this set to this Hyperthreading solution, would it be possible to zip it and send to me? Or is it possible to set it another way?
Also, I can not seem to find this folder on my Windows XP Pro
Windows\system32\dllcache\
For some unknown reason this folder does not exist at all, I have checked the ins and outs of this windows/system32, which is there, just not the dllcache folder, it is as though it does not seem to exist.
Thief 2 FMs do run on my system, though I have to do the Hyperthreading manually all the time in order to play it.
Perhaps someone can give me better instructions as to fixing or setting this
The permanent way to fix this problem(without turning off Hyperthreading)
Will it not work because I am missing this Dllcache in Windows/System32?
any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated
TIA

dllcache is a hidden folder. in explorer goto Tools-> Folder Options -> View tab -> Show hidden files and folders.
But I think Imagecfg will work if you just put it in the Thief directory and run it from there.
There is also this program (

Actually there's no need to copy anything to system folders. It's there just for the comfort of not typing the full path to imagecfg.exe in the command line. The program can be copied to the Thief folder and executed from there:
"D:\Games\Thief - The Dark Project\imagecfg.exe" {parameters} "D:\Games\Thief - The Dark Project\thief.exe"
or even
"C:\Program Files\imagecfg\imagecfg.exe" {parameters} "D:\Games\Thief - The Dark Project\thief.exe" If you copied imagecfg program into some different folder.
If you're familiar with cmd window, it's much easier to go to Thief folder first using cd command:
cd "D:\Games\Thief - The Dark Project"
imagecfg.exe {parameters} thief.exe
DEF is the same old imagecfg utility with commands scripted in a batch file.

Not every taffer is a computer specialist, and not every computer specialist is familiar with command line interface:cheeky:. That's why I've written FlipTIB - two mouse clicks and voila :).
