I'm replaying, and I just finished X16. I went to meet guide, but he's dead. Damn. Anyway, now I can't meet doctor...is there any way to trigger the doctor quest from console or something? Any help would be much appreciated- I would love to finish this game, but I don't know that I want to without the good ending / pripyat stash.

You can still get inside the room without meeting the guide.

thanks. Also, I'm trying to remember, do you actually need to talk to doc to get stuff from the secret stash if you know where it is?

You can buy the info about Doc from Sidorovich I think.

Did you try to search the Guide? Perhaps that will trigger the doctor quest as the searching does for "meet with Guide" quest.

If not, then try just to go to the hideout, maybe the Doc will be there anyway.

The Guide didn't have any note in his inventory by chance?

Guide was dead when I found him as well, but searching his body updated the quest...

i feel like that might've been what happened to me on my first playthrough. I'm heading to the brain scorcher now, maybe I'll try his corpse again later.
