Thanks Medlar! That was quite cool, looking forward to seeing more of it. Congrats Fingernail, very well done. :D :thumb:

The piece from the semi-final really showed off the versatility of the guitar and was good fun to listen to. The snippet of the final that Medlar posted was weak in comparison.

Well why don't you host it for us then?

That was great Fingernail!! ... Happy to have finally seen it.
I noticed one of the commentators talking about weaving fugal elements into it and I noticed that too at one point that you had like separate voices going on at the same time in those quick runs, and thinking god that must be tricky to pull off so adeptly with one hand and to make it sound so fluid ... great.
And for the record (to Noid) I was largely talking about my own situation in my last post; didn't mean to imply anything about your's. I can read traditional notation for piano, but for guitar I'm abysmally slow reading it and have gone to lengths to translate it achingly slowly to tab. I was sincerely worried that it would be hard to find a tab notation of a piece like that. I didn't know that site you linked to, since I stick to jazz guitar mostly and haven't explored classical guitar, but from what I've seen it looks like a fantastic resource.

She said the piece was "inconsequential"? Funny thing to say. Anyway, I can see the problems of Guitar+Orchestra there - the orchestra is dropped out whenever the guitar comes in, very sharply. Makes it a bit disjointed in a way.

I was thoroughly impressed. Good show, Fingernail. I think you handed in a worthy performance and I'm sorry that you failed to knock them dead, it was an impressive bravado piece with enough flair to entertain a completely uneducated musical appreciator (me, that is).
