Jesus, an axe that shoots fireworks. Hallelujah!

I'll have to give most of it a miss, although should hear some of it on the radio (I'll be driving back from the playoff final), but finland should be in with a good shout from doing something different, and not actively disliked by anyone.

The offical Eurovision sites describes their performance as "terrifying and brilliant" which, presumably, is a typo for "hillariously cheesy".

Lordi are a magnificant band and I'm happy to admit I've heard of them long before they've "shot" to Eurovision fame.
Their rendition of Blood Red Sandman is awesome for karaoke and shouting at your mirror-image.
May they win Eurovision and put some interest back in it.

The strange thing is that whilst the music is pretty comparatively weak, the band's image is pretty fucking heavy, in a Mortiis kind of way.

Pretty weak ? Man, this is like a parody of all the worst things in "Hard Rock" (and therefore is TOTALLY worth winning the Eurovision).
Anyway, they indeed put to shame the other contestants in terms of image, fun and 'feeling'. Go Lordi ! (Still, I don't even want to know what their new fanbase will be made of after that)

Well, not ALL very young children, but I'll guess that's the majority of their fans.
No offense meant.
