The thing is, all of what's in these videos has been done so much better in other games.
The same can be said for Deus Ex. You can't just cut the game up in a million little pieces and claim that every single aspect has been done better in other games. You have to look at the whole picture.
Besides, I disagree. For flying a jetplane through a dense cityscape, weaving between skyscrapers, ducking under billboards, bailing out and landing in a swimming pool there's no better game. For cross-county Road Warrior esque big rig vs cop-cars chases there's no better game. For exploring the rooftops with a dirtbike, there's nothing better. At least not untill Microsoft makes a new Motocross Madness, and lets you drive through a living, breathing city instead of just the desert. GTA just let us live out so many action-scenes that we'd only ever seen in movies before and the best thing about it is that (excluding some of the missions) they weren't pre-scripted, like in HL et all, but just happened because of the way the physics and the AI worked.

There is a time for that kind of consideration and in a GTA game is not one of them Aja.
Plus the car physics aren't supposed to be realistic, they are supposed to be fun. All your comments confirm is that you don't get the game. Don't play it then. Please. And STFU whining about it - you're fagging the thread up like only you can.

wow, gta4 is coming out. never realized. so the hype is back....
hmm, didn't get the last game and its controversies, found it to be bland and boring (story wise) and pretty questionable (as in racist) but it was always good for some crazy drving until the bad controls turned you off.
well, gonna wait for PC-version for 10€ like I did for gta3.

I was just having a discussion, and then you, for some reason, decided to take it personally.

my opinion of this game concerning ethics stems from dicussions with friends from ethnic minorities in Austria and the USA and are a little deeper going than "oh my gosh: black dudes poppin' white dudes or fuckin' their women". but since GTA aint high-brow you could say: oh my gosh: all those blacks are criminals
(and asians, and latinos, ....)

Fo' sure.
Although this very nearly ruined San Andreas for me. Tommy Vercetti >> CJ

You know, before the game was out I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get into San Andreas because of the whole ghetto culture thing, but once I started playing it really wasn't so bad. CJ is my least favourite GTA protagonist (still haven't played the PSP games though), but that's because he just lacks personality, not because of his background.
