It's an odd thing but the PS3 is *supposed* to be more powerful yet I hear it stutters on HL2 and supposedly the gfx on Assassins Creed are worse.
Does it make a difference? Vice City doesn't have great gfx but it's still great.
The only thing is the 360 does look to have some interesting downloadable content. If I had to make a choice this would sway me.

Just going from PS2 to Xbox was a huge improvement for that game, most noticably on the PS2 the game uses blob shadows, and on Xbox it had fully fleshed out ones. I played it on my sister's xbox .:P There were also a number of higher def textures, especially for terrain.
Agreed. Plus the controls on PC can be a little crazier. I have version 1 copies of Ps2, XBOX, and PC. PC does have the advantage of being moddable(plus the hacked on muliti-player is a hoot).

If I can be bothered, I'll wait for the PC version. Not high on my list, though... kinda lost the interest I had in GTA a few years ago.

Apparently the
Assassin's Creed thing is bullshit - set up the PS3 options correctly, especially with respect to colours, and it looks exactly like the 360 version. There's a video on YouTube that makes a pretty good case for this.

Hey Scots did you play and like Vice City? If so please let me know how San Andreas is for you as I might need a filler til GTAIV arrives for PC.
Vice City I played on the PS2 and loved it, played it on the PC and disliked it (plus it was buggy).
The only thing that irks me about SA is the camera angles swinging wildly when turning a corner.

I've got a PS3, but I'm waiting for the PC version, I just can't imagine playing a GTA game on a console. I've played GTA3 and San Andreas on the PS2 for bits at friends house and could not get over how atrocious the control scheme was, among other things. It's going to be a long wait though, knowing that I could be playing it any time I want, but oh well.

I don't think I've ever played a GTA game that wasn't on a console. In fact, they seem like the perfect console games to me. :weird:

I cant handle auto aiming systems on consoles. Give me mouse look anyday. Plus playing my own mp3s on the radio (although i realise you can probably do this now on the consoles).

Just to check something: are the aircraft controls in SA horrible, or do I just suck? Cos if it's the latter i might give it another try - enjoyed it quite a lot for the most part. But pretty much gave up in frustration on the flying missions.

I dunno, I don't really like playing involved games on consoles, I can't get into them as much, though I did play through all of Bully on the PS2, so that's a definite argument for me being able to enjoy GTA on a console. Problem is that my current housing arrangements have me sharing a tv with my roomates in a common room, which makes playing any game of real substance for any stretch a basic impossiblity. So I'd need to invest in a second tv, and I don't know if GTA4 earlier is worth that.
