You do realize that there can be shades of morality, right?
Consider who you're asking that question, then nod your head sadly and move on because it'd be like trying to explain business ethics to an Asian megacorporation. It's an utterly alien concept.
Anyway as for Cash, that's his parents and siblings you rescue- first is your brother, then sister, then father, then mother. Sister's probably the hardest to rescue thanks to those assholes in the ape pen- it's difficult to draw them out. In any case, they're definitely estranged from Cash, hence their sudden appearance in the game when there was no mention of them before. It's just another one of the Director's sick games.
And henke is wrong- they
are mentioned again- Cash gets to watch them die on videotape in the mall.
In any case Cash is indeed just as bad, if not worse than, the hunters and depending on how you look at it the Director himself. There
is no redemption for him- with the Director dead, Cash takes off and disappears- after all, he's supposed to be dead. And that's the whole point- the main character doesn't
need redemption. If he's at all changed by his experiences it's likely for the worse. When was the last time you saw a story like that? Calling the story 'shallow' only reflects on you- it takes analysis because it doesn't hand shit to you on a platter like GTA does. Another comparison would be Resident Evil versus Silent Hill. RE is pretty straightforward- everything you need to know is simply handed to you, whereas you really have to think about the characters and events in Silent Hill and what they represent.

All I know is that Niko Bellic is one helluva character :D
Now, his cousin Roman...sheesh...someone poke him in the stomach with lead.
Ah, great game. :)

Wow, someone else who understood, enjoyed, and appreciated one of my favorite games.

Um... the GTA games?

Just beacuse you can analyse something doesn't necessarily make it rewarding to do so. You can analyse the hell out of the motivations of the characters in Super Mario Bros too. Manhunt is a knock-off/homage to The Warriors, The Running Man, Escape from New York and a dozen other old 80's action/grindhouse movies. It is quite beautifully done and the atmosphere is just right. But it is not deep, nor is it in any way intended to be deep. Just trust me on this one.

Yeah, the last time I heard "just trust me on this one" I woke up in a back alley in Bakersfield, CA wearing a pink tutu and a shirt that said "chocolate, it's not just for breakfast anymore." Your argument is bullshit. Manhunt is a fuck of a lot deeper than the GTA games. I'm not saying it's deeper than, say, Silent Hill 2, but it's definitely deeper than GTA. And it seems to be deeper than you.

what you are doing is the equivalent of arguing whether that tiny puddle on the ground or the water in a plate is deeper.
In the end, it doesn't really matter because both are so freaking shallow that any differences in "Depth" are irrelevant and stupid.
Simply, grow the fuck up. It is not everyone's job to convert the rest of the world to own tastes in games, music, whatever. Unfortunately, TTLG has long ceased to be a forum for intelligent discourse and is now, for the most part, rabid fanboys all fighting everyone else who does not share their own taste in games.

And with that in mind....BACK ON TOPIC, FFS!
Carry on, men.
:D

Yeah the "I'll Pee In Your Eyes" variant is quite popular these days.
