I just found
a Gulf Oil coloured (orange & pale blue) GT40/Mclaren F1-esque thing driving around downtown LS. I was mildy delighted.
Hmmm. Odd situation. I was all ready to do the gem heist but I had to go.
I've updated so I have MP now but when I go back into the game it seems the heist has been done and I can't see how to replay it on the replay menu.
Anyone any ideas?
My PS3 handle is SubEffect btw. Natch.
Did you play multiplayer? People have been reporting that it can bug up your single player game with skipping missions and teleporting your character when you lag and disconnect out.

I tried.
I'll have to go back to an old save.

So, if this had been an EA game, what kind of a shitstorm would the problems with multiplayer arose? Or is the singleplayer good enough so that people are not as pissed, if it had been worse?

Here's a tip, folks: spend some money on upgrading the main vehicles of your characters!
I never bothered with tuning up my cars in any of these open world games before since you're likely to abandon them in the next 15 minutes anyway. But in this one your main vehicles keep respawning at your cribs thoughout the game, so it's a good idea to plunk down some cash on better performance, armor, and bulletproof tires.
I'm currently about 40-50 hours into the game and at 77% total completion. Getting close to the end of the story.
My hopes for a DLC is that they flesh out the North Yankton area and do a story about the early days of Mike and Trevor. :)

Franklin's is the white muscle saloon, Trevor's the Jeep thing. Which is Michaels? The black saloon or is or Amanda's open top Merc lookalike?
Loving this. Loving it.
Who is MilkyWhiteSoup on PSN BTW?

Not much has been said yet about how much more streamlined and accessible this entry is. So I figured I'd make a list of the things I've noticed in that area.
* Missions are littered with checkpoints now. Whenever you die, you won't have to replay too much to get back to where you were.
* A "Skip Mission" button shows up if you die/fail 3 times in the same spot during a mission.
* Easier vehicle handling. Besides the afforementioned more arcadey handling, two other new additions are aerial control for cars(meaning you can rotate them slightly while jumping, and the ability to flip your car the right way if it ends up upside-down. Boats handle easier than in GTA 4 too, though honestly I don't mind this at all. Planes are about the same as in GTA:SA.
* The ability to switch between characters lets you easily get out of having to make your way back to civilization on foot if you get stranded out in the wilderness/ocean without a vehicle.
* Regenerating health. This is a perfect fit for a GTA game actually. It means cop-chases can last much longer, and turn into city-spanning manhunts with a lot of close calls where you narrowly avoid death and buy yourself a few moments to recover just enough for the next mad sprint for a car, or building, or alleyway that might get your away from your pursuers.
The only one of these I straight up dislike is what they've done to the vehicles. The other changes either don't affect me(Skip Missions), or I even
like them(Regenerating Health).

Which is Michaels?
The black one.

The first two in that list seem to be innovations from Red Dead Redemption, which for all intents and purposes was basically GTA 1911.

A note on vehicle customisation and a nasty bug I encountered.
It's a bit spoilerific and involves Trevor's vehicle and story arc with Floyd, Wade's cousin.
Basically:
DON'T CUSTOMISE TREVOR'S VEHICLE BEFORE RESOLVING FLOYD'S STORY ARC.
Basically after Trevor kills Floyd and Debra in a berserk frenzy, Mr Raspberry Jam, Floyd's teddy bear that Trevor violated by fucking in the eye, gets attached to the bumper of Trevor's truck. This removes all previous upgrades!
