It's not surprising -- Rockstar have over time increased the granularity of realism in GTA. So cops being every bit as violent and paranoid as they are in reality was an obvious step up -- consider the LSPD of San Andreas which were largely apathetic unless you had a star or two, same as cops in the other PS2-era games.

Not necessarily, as there's a gameplay tradeoff. Until I got a feel for it I noticed myself getting wanted levels a lot faster than in previous GTA games.

Hmm racial profiling in a video game. That`d = many pissed off players I'd have thought.
I experienced racism in Skyrim due to playing as a Dark Elf. Annoyed the hell out of me and made the choice of which side to go with in the civil war an easy one.

But at least with the 2 game mentioned above, you don't run the risk of offending anyone (unless you happen to be an elf).

Quick question about missions such as "Exercising Demons" (the one with the neurotic runner): if I fail such a mission, will it pop up again later, or do I close off a thread of missions? I failed my first attempt, because Michael is seriously out of shape, but I hope I'll get more chances at this.

Apparently you can retry all missions through the phone or something.
I did that mission too but I won. You have to manage his stamina is all. After that I run a lot with everyone, just for the exercise!

Hmmm. Odd situation. I was all ready to do the gem heist but I had to go.
I've updated so I have MP now but when I go back into the game it seems the heist has been done and I can't see how to replay it on the replay menu.
Anyone any ideas?
My PS3 handle is SubEffect btw. Natch.
