I wouldn't doubt that it is just me. I tend to retardedly mash on the knob and jiggle it around like a cow's clitoris.

It's just you, mostly. I play GTA exclusively with a controller (yes, even on PC) and while it's much more slippery in the original Vice City, the motorcycle handling in the other games is smooooof as butta.
Dunno....I found that GTA 4's bikes were a lot smoother to handle. While they weren't as responsive as the one's in GTA V, I preferred the previous ones overall because the bikes had a much better sense of weight and their inertia handled more realistically.....and if you've ever ridden a real one (especially larger baggers and touring bikes) leaning to manipulate inertia is how you handle the bike.
edit: just noticed a dark souls easter egg.

Hahaaa, I just had a little stroll down memory lane. And by memory lane I mean Grove Street, and by a little stroll I mean a drugdeal gone bad resulting in a shootout with gangbangers and cops. :D

I'm SO GLAD that Rockstar decided to ignore the "armchair race drivers" who claim to have actually enjoyed GTA IV's god awful "pseudo-realistic" driving model. Go play your banal Gran Turismo's if you want that shit and don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Problem is that not every vehicle handles better. While the crappier ones do tend to drive better, high speed bikes and cars (to a lesser extent) suffer from the very stiff and "arcadey" controls that make it difficult to perform small adjustments while riding/driving. So far I've found it a lot more difficult to speed down a road without sending the rider flying than I did in GTA 4

Yeah I went there and it was filled with
Ballas. Sad. And they didn't even put in
Sweet and CJ's houses. I know the PS2 and 360/PS3 era games are different universes, but still. Come on.

Just had a hilarious time trying to escape the police, attempting to jump over a river via a ramp, not going fast enough and slow mo crashing onto the opposite bank and me and my crew having to swim for safety.
We escaped though!

They really pulled out the stops with the DJs this time, didn't they?
Pam Grier and Kenny Loggins are pretty damned epic as it stands, but Bootsy Collins?
Awesome :D

Got up to the part where Franklin meets Trevor for the first time, and Trevor is one of the more entertaining characters I've seen in awhile.....every time you switch to him something bizarre is going on. What makes him an effective character isn't that he's insane and violent. It's that in addition to being insane and violent, he's also very intelligent and very cagey.
