This game's launch gave me a pretty good laugh today. I went to the Exchange today during my lunch, and there was a line of dudes going thirty feet out the door of Gamestop waiting to buy GTA V. After taking a look around, I realized that about 30-40 feet away was a stand inside the main PX store, with a good number of copies just sitting there out in the open...no line and no attention being paid to them. I allowed myself to indulge in a few smugly self-satisfied thoughts berating the sheep mentality most people have, and a minute later was walking past all the fools in line, grinning as I made sure they all noticed my copy.

Let us know how it is, yeah?

Well... I got the game! It only took two Wal-Mart tries. And, of course, I just got home after having to help out a friend, and it's now after 1am. Fuck. GTA will just have to wait until tomorrow. :(

Somebody just tell me if you can drive the blimp. That's what I'm interested in.
PigLick on 18/9/2013 at 06:58
Yes, but its only available as a pre-order dlc :(

Actually I got some ticket in the case that lets me unlock driving the blimp I think. Looked like there might be different tickets in each copy.

I got it too and I didn't pre-order. I think it's an incentive to not buy a used copy.
The game is brilliant. The most noticeable improvement is that cars feel a lot better. They have a very "solid" feel to them. It's also the most realistic feeling city I've ever seen in a game.
But holy crap. Jaggies. Billions of them. Everywhere.

It hasn't been announced yet but it will come out eventually and I can only advise you to wait for it. I've been playing the game for almost two days now, so I can confidently tell the following:
* GTA V is a very good GTA game;
* I've felt frustration at the game being so low-res and heavy on the hardware more times than for any other current-gen console game. GTA V has the potential to be absolutely gorgeous and falls short because of the technical limitations of the console platforms (low framerate, 720p max, low-res shadow maps, blurry textures, awful aliasing, fog, very aggressive LOD management, pop-in).
Nothing deserves more pixels, less jagged edges and textures that don't pop out of nowhere more than this game, it will be glorious on PC.
Cool - let's hope so :thumb:

Have any of the rpg elements introduced in SA returned? or more sticking to the GTA 4 formula?
