Was hoping for something nice like the 360 deal - if you preorder for the 360, you get 1600 MS points, which is about $20 towards any XBLA game.

Right on, henke. I think it was a fair question to ask and I can respect R*'s answer. Personally, when it was rumored that GTA V was going to be a multi-character experience, part of my excitement was around the possibility of having some female player characters. I was disappointed when it was announced that it was going to be 3 dudes but I'm sure R* have thought about how to do it and that it's going to happen eventually. Might be the next game or perhaps DLC; it'd be awesome if GTA V had a
Set It Off-like DLC that focused on a group of female criminals.

Still....It makes me unhappy to know that no matter how awesome this game is, it's not going to offer anything like playing through a 50's sitcom scene or shakespeare quoting villains.
I will be picking it up Day 1 though. I'm particularly looking forward to GTA Online. Me and my buddies are gonna see how many death threats we can rack up from other players.

also in regards to Rockstar games, I heard a rumour on some gaming site that a possible sequel/remake of Bully could happen. Now that would be a great game to have multiple playable characters of both genders.

Absolutely. I could totally see that working. Bully was basically GTA for kids anyway -- with an updated version of the fighting system from The Warriors to boot. What a great game.

I can say one of the biggest things I miss in Japan is a car & driving around the countryside, and GTA games have always been an old standby for scratching that itch. As if I needed even that much reason to get it...

Well thanks to the magic of time zones, I am installing this right now on my 360. Not working today, so have a goodly sum of hours to stuff around :cool: Will post some impressions this evening.
