Hey deth, is the game world in VCS the exact same as Vice 1? If not, are there any notable differences? It takes place prior to Vice 1 and is Lance Vance's brother, right? Thank you, sir.

There are some cosmetic differences and a few things either don't exist yet or are under construction in VCS. Perhaps the biggest difference is the empty lots east of the airport -- Sunshine Autos is pretty much just a small lot rather than the big dealership in VC1, and a large portion of the rest of the field has been taken up by a trailer park (many of your early missions are based here.) By 1986 it's just a parking lot.
Overall the city is cleaner and warmer-feeling. Part of that is because the buildings have had some cosmetic changes to them like more neon lights, and part of that is because VCS features a few graphical upgrades. It rains a lot less, too.
It was a good game to play in early spring, lemme tell you.

Thanks. I really need to play that.

Also there's a bunch of new screenies on (
http://www.rockstargames.com/V/) the official site, showing off some impressive looking landscapes, cityscapes, jetfighters, bicycles, mini-submarines, scubadiving, parachuting, quadbiking, rapelling, jetskiing and dirtbiking.
I suspect that come September 17 I will disappear inside this game and not come out for a good month. :D

" past a tour bus that the Rockstar guys said would have taken Michael on a tour of the homes of the game's sleazy celebrities."
ok I'm sold.

Sounds like they're doing exactly what I was hoping they'd do. With GTA IV they updated the engine, physics, core gameplay, and added robust multiplayer on top. It was quite restrained as far as GTA games goes. With this one they're reintroducing all the stuff they took out since GTA:SA, and then adding some more stuff on top. :D
I wonder if they're still gonna make a VC game using the same engine.

All I've heard in the rumor mill is keep your eyes on the blimp. Something's gonna go down.

Well I was just about to say I've got sandbox game fatigue and they go and give us these details that sound fab. Based around setting up and carrying out heists? Count me in.
