The gist of it:-
* Three protagonists with their own story arcs. You can switch between them almost at any time. There's unique abilities to each character and activities to which they have access.
* The world is bigger than GTA4, RDR and San Andreas combined.
O.M.Fucking G...
Jaw is on floor. Comfortably. I am almost speechless. That has to be a goddamn world record for game world size (save for procedurally generated worlds I suppose) and I am all for it.
I loved San Andreas for many reasons, not the least of which was the LONG, scenic, eventful (:ebil:) drive from Las Venturas to Los Santos, sometimes swinging through da' Fierro on the way. I cannot imagine the amount of time it will take to traverse the game world, let alone play the damn story line for all 3(!) characters (loving this btw) and attempt to explore all of its nooks and crannies.
Speaking of the decision to include 3 characters... this is a big move. R*. I felt, almost played it too safe with GTA IV for the sake of just getting a next-gen GTA game out the gate. Blame it on the newness of the console and perhaps their unfamiliarity with it, whatever the cause the game definitely took a noticeable step backwards from the absolutely epic San Andreas. The RPG elements to 'leveling up' C.J., the ability to have near complete control over the avatar's (and his car!) appearance, and the gang/turf 'mini-game' were all removed. Not nerfed, removed. And a lot of fans' asses were chapped as a result.
They did earn big bonus points for the whole Euphoria deal. My what a cool fucking technology. I saw, and made, several hilarious videos showcasing it and had some memorable bad ass moments in-game. I pray they kept Euphoria around. It seems they listened to the whining forum posters post-GTA IV and tried to appease us. Also appears they learned from RDR and plugged in the best elements from that game as well. Ha, it'd be sweet if out in the (I assume there are going to be rural areas) country there were ride able horses!
The only question I have (since they don't appear to be fucking with a PC sku) is what console to get it for, wanna know the advantages of each (like blu-ray vs. likely multi-disc, graphics, DLC exclusivity/timed releases, etc,) since I am throwing my hat back in the console ring after selling the Xbawk tree sixty this summer. Leaning towards PS3 (I already have a blu-ray player) though I loved my XBox. I dunno, they are both awesome.

Jesus Christ, just buy a ~2TB USB 3.0 external HDD and be done with it. At worst you'll have slightly longer load times than SATA, but it's utterly negligible.
I already have one but it's not good for hauling around halfway around the world to developing countries every other month. I need to keep everything on my laptop.

I like.
Then again, it's gotten to the stage where I'd probably be classified as a GTA fanboi, so that's hardly surprising...

We know that, what about the trailer?
van HellSing on 14/11/2012 at 16:54
No, I thought I'd either get excited or start snarking, but the trailer is just kind of... there. It's not bad, it's not good either.
