PC games are made to mask the PC's limits.
Or test those limits sorely until they cough up blue GPU smoke; depends on what games you're talking about there.
For instance, Crysis makes current day PCs haul their bleeding carcasses over the ragged edge of frame rate oblivion, because it sure as hell doesn't mask anything in terms of system requirements.
I will admit, though, that if your PC can play Crysis at a good clip at 1600x1200, it's probably exceeded well beyond the X360 and PS3's limits and I probably want to marry you for your limitless bank balance.

miss head too often and you're dead, console controllers are bad for that.
My Wiimote begs to differ. :p
An interesting announcement all told; I confess to being a 'consoles are shit' sort of person until about last year, when I bought the aforementioned Wii. I was surprised at how fun and different a lot of the games that I tried could be, though I would still never abandon my PC as the gaming platform of choice. I guess I'm just trying to say that console does not
have to equal bad - I think we're just waiting on the right developer to show that.

Sulphur > PC games have always pushed the limits of consumer-end hardware. Why should Crysis/Witcher et al. be any different? or is that just an intentionally obtuse response to Mothra's statement?

I'm always somewhat intentionally obtuse around here. :D
Didn't mean to rag on the dude's somewhat-broken analogy, but... I'm sorry mothra, I just couldn't help myself.
After being a gamer on the PC for more than a decade, it's a little funny when you read a statement like that... especially when you've witnessed PC games do anything but 'mask' the limitations of the hardware you're running them on, time after time, year after year.

Lost in translation maybe.
This is a whopper.

Creating games for PC, we achieved practically everything, and now are prepared to garner the top spots in sales charts and gamers' recognition in the world of console games too.
Stalker was five years in the making, the final patch for Stalker has yet to be released and GSC has yet to prove itself capable of following up a unique and compelling title with a superior sequel.. or in the case of Clear Sky... a prequel. Does the mediocre Cossacks RTS series even count ?
And GSC claims to have "achieved practically everything" in the process?
GSC has the cart before the horse here. They need to finish what they have started.. then and only then should a claim as lofty as "achieved everything" be taken seriously.
This explains my personal skepticism regarding GSC's triumphant entry into the world of console gaming. Great console to PC ports are possible, can GSC pull it off?

Yes, the awesomeness and complexity of Bioshock are a true testament to how great a game developed for a console
then ported to PC can be.
Wrong way around. I'm saying pc to console. 'Sides, there are a lot of good console games out now - Gears of War, Mass Effect, Kane and Lynch (i know it's on pc too, bear with me), Assassin's creed, and that's just on one console. Lets take a look at the the ps3...
Wait, nevermind. Not until MGS4 comes out anyway. I suppose lair, but i haven't played it yet.

Well, finished or not, Stalker in its current form became one of my all time favourite games, and I think the most valuable game of the last two or three years. I play HL2 now, I played TDS, Bioshock, Vampire:Bloodlines, Oblivion, Gothic3, Resident Evil 4, Doom 3, Hitman: Bloodmoney, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, MGS1/2, Fable, Fahrenheit and some others - Stalker is a winner for me. I didn't follow its development and I didn't like it too much from the start, only later and especially compared with other modern games I saw it was a gem in disguise. Besides, it has unforgettably special gloomy atmosphere. So devs definitely allegorically "achieved everything" in my opinion.

My point wasn't to denigrate Stalker.
One must first master an art, before claiming to be its master. It might be due to a poor translation but the GSC CEO sounds arrogant.
242 you're Russian correct? Can you do me a favor ? I want to know if Space Rangers 2: Reloaded English V2.0 translation will be released soon and if it will be available in a retail box package. Can you ask around on some Russian forums?
English forum SR2 source.

I just want a second opinion on what is really happening with SR2: Reloaded. Thanks

Except for the whole "being an FPS" thing.
If you're referring to the control scheme, then millions of people would disagree with you. And a few of us would even confess a
preference for properly-programmed gamepad controls.

I'm Ukrainian, there isn't much info on Russian forums about English versions usually :) As far as I know release date hasn't been announced officially yet, so your best bet is to ask on the English forums of the developer or publisher.
