To be fair, they've just released one of the best games to come out for a long time and managed the very rare feat of putting out something original in a very crowded and over-done genre.
If they are to release additional material for it, there's at least a chance it could still be better than most of what's out there, and besides, if they release a duffer, it's not like you won't still be able to play the original Stalker.

I'd love an addon that patches the original, similar to the way the Quake series expansions work.
But what would the addon add? I'd want more than just new features. Haven't we seen most of the Zone in the original? :erm:

Wasn't there meant to be a northern hemisphere to the Zone too, north of the reactor? Maybe they could add that back in.

The town north of Yantar is cut out "Necropolis".
Base of mercenaries was supposed to be there. You still can see some pointers in the Army Warehouses area, transition point should have been beyond small mercenary's outpost north of that village with bloodsuckers.
Some movies at youtube show it, the location is recognizible by big Lenin's monument in it. You even can see the square where it stands on your map, iit's about at the center.
Location north of the Necropolis must be cut out "Swamps" area, I think. Don't know what's the area left of Cordon, interesting...

That sounds sweet. The cut out locations just beg to be brought back in a datadisc.

How about STALKER Card Battles?

I sure hope this is coming to my 360. My PC sucks big time.

Wow, cool. I always wondered why I didn't see that big Lenin statue in the game - from the trailers it looked like an important landmark...
