We need to liven up the forums a bit... And now since all the 'trouble makers' from before have left, we may as well try for the sixth time to start a new story. We don't need to continue from the last story (I'm not even using Ryushi), but if you're interested in reading it I have a link (
http://www.angelfire.com/ex/ryushi/Tuco.htm) here.
Please don't post if you plan on adding one thing to the story and then running off. That's not very fair. Also, anything counts EXCEPT character deaths. I trust everyone to keep things realistic, of course, but if you plan on killing someone atleast ask permission first. And a last note! Try to be professional. You don't have to be perfect, but if you can't use commas, periods, and capital letters... Well...
please try?

Arkantos stood precariously on the railing of the ship as it drifted into port. As an Imperial noble from the mainland, he had been sent to oversee colonization on Vvardenfell. He ranked only slightly lower than the Duke himself, though with the King's seal he was allowed to override any decision made by the Duke for the next few months. Apparently, someone in Cyrodil was not happy with the politics of the island.
"Sir, we're docking soon. I would get down if I were you..."
Arkantos raised a brow in playful contempt, then laughed and shook his head. He was one of the few nobles who didn't abuse his power. He had, in fact,
insisted that he wear common clothes and ride on a common ship, a ship carrying prisoners. As the ship drifted in, it bumped against a pilon. Arkantos leapt from the railing as it did, and landed perfectly on the docks.
A rope was thrown to Arkantos and he quickly helped tie the boat down. "Am I to help escort the prisoners?" asked Arkantos, looking up at the captain. The captain shook his head, "They aren't getting off here. Just stopping for supplies."
Another nod and Arkantos strode down the docks towards the gate. As he approached, he heard the sound of ringing steel. In Seyda Neen? "Captain!" he shouted, turning to the dock. "What's going on?"
The Captain didn't reply. He was standing on the bow of the ship, eyes wide and face pale. For Arkantos, the towering buildings blocked off his view, which was unfortunate because half the town was on fire.
It was civil war.

((No one? Pah! No fun.))

Arkantos quickly secured the boat and made way toward the sounds of battle, not quite knowing what was going on or the severity of the event.
On his way he discovered a corpse, the only significant thing was that it was still clutching an iron longsword. With his new found toy in hand, Arkantos kept running toward the sound, which was becoming more loud as the seconds flew by.
He came upon the backs of a small group of somewhat armed men, they looked like mercenaries, no doubt the cause of such a problem. The captain of the group turned to face Arkantos, and paused for a moment, it was a time of great chaos and it was odd that there was an armed commoner behind the enemy lines with a sword. This peasant could be anything from a newly awoken minuteman, to a spy, to a politician who just came in on the boat.
"State your purpose.", abruptly ordered the Captain.
"I'm here to aid you in your battle, I am a spy who was given a secret task, that task is accomplished and I am to help whoever I can." lied Arkantos, he was hoping that the mercenary would buy his lie, he would not be able to take all 5 of the mercenaries.
"I see..." replied the captain waringly.
"What is the situation, what has occured?" Queried Arkantos. He would most likely be enemies with these mercenaries soon, as he was sure the Duke wouldn't want a civil war.

But then, THE SAUSAGES ATTACED!

(( ... ))
"Occured?" grunted the mercenary Captain. "You're a spy an you don't even know?" There was the sound of iron being unsheathed. Arkantos swallowed hard and stepped forwards, summoning up the forceful and commanding tone that had been passed down from noble to noble.
"Are you calling me ignorant? I just put my life on the bloody line for you! You try being locked up and tortured for a week! I've been cut off from any contact since before this event even broke lose!" And now the coup de grace, or certain death. Arkantos grabbed the mercenary captain by his armor and, in a show of strength, lifted him up. "Now tell me what's going on before I tear you limb from limb and leave you to the dogs!" And then the captain was dropped.
The mercenaries were taken aback. The captain scrambled to regain his composure. "There was... Someone... Look, I'm just getting paid. All I know is starting a few months ago, a new faction came to town... Or the island, rather. The Imperial garrisons have been drained or completely overrun, save for Ebonheart. Two days ago, this town was attacked. There was a jailbreak... Now we've got criminals, bandits, commoners, soldiers, and who knows what else roaming the streets."
So, they're on the 'good' side then... Arkantos sighed and sheathed his blade. "Great. Thank you."

It was obvious that the captain had more answers and that he was
willing to share his knowledge. Arkantos decided to stay with him and if
bossible help the poor captain in his work and meanwhile keep them both
alive for a while.
The street was still a battleground and two of the five mercenaries
left when they were assured about Arkantos. Captain still holded his
sword and faced Arkantos. "I won't fight you, I will even help you in this
mess" said Arkantos and turned to the street. Captain gave one final
mistrustful look at Arkantos and slowly turned back to the street where
last ten criminals were driven into a corner.
Captain with his two mercenaries marched towards the fight shouting "Life or death it's all up to you!" Arkantos tied his new sword in his back and started after the man who was to become his friend.
