I just never had the opportunity to watch it before.

He's so good in Stalag 17 - a film well worth seeing for those who missed it.
Though the MSN news story spoils the principal plot twist. So, um, don't read it.

Surely you can't be serious? Why have you skipped it for so long?
He likes movies about gladiators.

Add me also to the "never seen Airplane list," as I didn't get around to it during my middleschool Weird Al phase and as an adult I find most gag films horrible unfunny. Airplane is supposed to be the head of its class, though, so I ought to check it out at some point.
Still, I watched the clip Zombe linked and I didn't even crack a smile :(

They have a number of times, and the sequel (don't remember the name) but the same twit for the star and the same juvenile potty humor.

I used to get up at 5am, after my dad left for work and before my mom got up, to watch Mission: Impossible on school days. One of my favorite shows of all time.
Also, Airplane! is admittedly very dated, and was old even when I watched it for the first time. It's best seen either as a child or through nostalgia goggles and as a (far, far, far superior) prototype for the "comedy movies that are parodies of serious movies" that still are somehow made today.

A situation I hear you are very familiar with. Never believe anything you hear and only half the size what you see.
