I recently installed the Arx Fatalis demo, and I'm having a strange problem. It looks like the camera is partially inside the player, so I can see very little of the game world.
Other than that the game seems to run fine. I can move around, etc. Also, if I look down, the view is less obstructed and the game world looks fine, so it seems like the only problem is that the camera is offset backwards too much. So much that it goes inside the player.
My system specs are: Intel Core 2 Duo E7200, 2GB RAM, GeForce 8600GT, and I'm using Windows XP Pro.
I tried running in compatibility mode and I tried disabling Clear-Type, but it didn't make any difference.
Any idea what might be causing this?

Does the demo say which version of the game it is? Arx received rather a lot of patches.
My own machine specs are nearly identical to your own (just a sightly different Core 2 Duo cpu), so I'm thinking the difference is most likely going to be either the game version, or the video drivers.

It's version 1.0. I'm guessing they didn't release a patch for the demo?
BTW my graphics drivers are version 158.27. They are old, but they work well in other games and upgrading is a bit of a pain. I might try it later though.

It's probably worth a try, so long as you know how to revert back to the old drivers afterwards if they cause problems.
You could also try patching the demo, just in case it works :)

Problem solved.
Apparently there's an updated version of the demo - version 1.13. I installed it and the problem went away.

if its the only game that does that its not your graphics card its the game or you have a commonly found cracked version with a built in cheat for multiplayer its called wallhack you acn see people throu everything so you could kill them so its either corrupt or you have a cheat xD this is also a evry common cheat for any shooter game..
