So, in an hour the Grand National starts, which is the biggest horse race of the year in the UK.
Usually the Grand National is the one sporting event of the year that people bet on, and this year is no different for me!
I'm taking a small flutter on Cornish Rebel (each way) at 25/1 as it's my namesake :D and Native Upmanship (also E/W), as it is a 100/1 and always worth a few bucks!
Anyone else betting on the National this year? And does anyone have any hawt, hawt tips?

Hedgehunter romped home to minor workplace success for me last year, MAYBE LIGHTNING WILL STRIKE TWICE?
I've heard the rain is pissing down there, so my actual tip is to go for a horse which can swim.

Clearly the gentleman bets on the horse with the daftest name.

In the office sweepstake I picked Cornish Rebel and Ross Comm. Each one cost me the grand sum of £1 each.
Conveniently, the guy runing the sweepstake managed to pick Hedgehunter for himself.

I usually stick to football betting, but I love the National and I bet on it every year. You can feel an electric atmosphere across the whole city when the Grand National meet is on too... one day I might actually make it to Aintree :D.
I have a fiver on Hedgehunter, but the ground is looking very heavy right now, I'm not at all hopeful that he'll get round carrying all that weight, class horse though he is.
I also have each way money on Cornish Rebel, Just In Debt (lol 150/1) and Joes Edge. I have a funny feeling about Cornish Rebel; there's usually a story around the winner, and he's the brother of the legendary Gold Cup winner Best Mate, who died this year.

JOSS ACKLAND'S SPUNKY BACKPACK
I gave my mate a quarter of the betting money, but can't for the life of me remember the horse. Who knows!
