I gotta ask: Where in Deus Ex is this music track used as BGM or whatever? I just can't pin it down?
The track in question is the one immediately after the Paris BGMs.
It sounds nice and upbeat but I really cannot remember it being played through the game. Is is a music track that got selected for DX but nobody knows where to use it?

I have spent a lot of time messing around in the Music Jukebox and am quite familiar with the score of DX (which, incidentally, is very cool ) and could probably identify the track if I heard it, but I'm afraid that I only have the European Eidos GOTY edition, which does not include the soundtrack CD, so I'm afraid I cannot help you. Perhaps someone else can. Sorry. :(

I believe that's the song that plays when you're in New York the second time. Could be wrong though.

Maybe it's the track for the 4th (secret) ending, which can only be accessed by using the cheat?

I personally have serious suspicions that this is a new track unused in the game itself ... I have had downloaded a tracker and skimmed through the game music files in vain to match the song.
If someone has space to spare on a server I have converted the track into a 1.5 Mb mp3 file (cos I use a solidstate MP3 player also) that I might upload for interested people to sample ... though I wonder if that would infringe on copyrights ...
This song is just too upbeat to be used as a BGM in most DX missions IMAO; maybe we might get to hear it in DX 2 ?!?!?

Doubt it ... their going more ambient. But it's not like I can hear it.
*chade starts to cry because he doesn't have the Deus Ex soundtrack*

track 19 on the Deus Ex soundtrack is the same as NYC_Streets2.umx, hence why I suggested that theory.... I seem to remember hearing it at some point in the game.
It's not the secret ending, since that's also on the soundtrack CD near the end.

Ahhh... NYCStreets2_music, AKA "Mission Eight". Here's the info Mr. Brandon put on the "samples" tab:
Quote:

with my bowing out of
Straylight productions
and the release of this
project you may note
similarities btween
this piece and the style
of necros (andrew sega)
if so, there is no shame
as this is probably going
to be my last MOD
released to the public
and what better way
to pay homage to one of
my personal favorites and
colleague in arms
there is no doubt he and
others have had a profoun
d impact on my music and
as friend Josh Rodman
says.. "its one of your
strengths.. don't shy
away from it".

I go for the UNATCO theme myself. Awesome stuff. I'll miss straylight's style. (they scored Unreal and UT as well.) :(
Hopefully Mr. Brandon is working on some really cool stuff for Invisible War and TIII.
