I only this past weekend discovered this "service" of google's. They've broadened the range considerably since back when that thread's discussion was taking place. Lots of new cities have been added.

So I checked, yes my house is on there.

Creeps me out.

Apparently as of a few months ago, they are blurring faces and license plates, etc. But what of the zillions of pics that were taken before that time? The only recourse is to submit an "inappropriate content" report. If you see somebody's face.
So I was "driving" around my city for a few minutes today, so far I have already reported two unblurred faces, just guys that happened to be driving past the google car while it was capturing.

There are even websites setup like digg where people can submit, rank, and comment on pictures taken by the google cars..

Google is taking over the world..

And it is scary as hell.
