I'll probably be in this once I set it up.
But, is there a way to use a nick up front?
It isn't so much that I'm hiding, but 1) no one calls me by my fuckn name, for god sakes, except the angry headmasters of my deeply scarred psyche and 2) I've got half a dozen semi broken logins with Discus, OpenID, Blogger et al, most of which use nicks that are variations on a theme. It'd be nice to have one reliable one that's consistent with various past selves at a glance.

Well you have to give it first name - surname although I don't suppose there's any obligation for them to be real.
There is a separate "nickname" field but it doesn't go at the header of your profile.

I spend too much time on social networking as it is and Google+ has not yet gone mainstream. If it takes down FB then I'll consider changing over, but it is gong to have to get well established first for me.
