I just noticed how specifically tailored those little ads sponsored by Google are.

For instance, while I'm browsing these forums just now, here's one that's on the top of the page:

Visiting Thief River Falls? Find Deals & Read Hotel Reviews![/CENTER]

And there's another advertising the 'It Takes a Thief' DVD.

While I imagine that's a fairly good effort from Google's algorithms to bring up stuff that appeals to this forum's interests, I can hardly imagine a merry band of taffers grouping up to lurk around the sights of Thief River Falls and cut coinpurses loose from wandering passersby.

But anyway. If Google really wanted to ensure that it got its market on this site hooked, that DVD set would be available for a steal.

Which, at $79, it ain't.

Oh well. At the rate Google's kicking ass in other fields these days, I'm sure they'll manage to get it right soon enough. Depth and personality's a difficult thing to account for in the advertising biz.
