Good read from the guy who wrote "Fight club" - by Mr. K.

Also: The high point of Fight Club for me was the first half hour as it was pretty much all downhill after that.
Yeah, that first half hour/hour was an intense rollercoaster ride and goddamn it if I finally didn't realise why a lot of women thought Brad Pitt is attractive, it's not always about the looks and the body, it's about charisma and fuck me if Brad Pitt wasn't born to play Tyler Durden. He has this sureness, this mix of confidence, intelligence and raw physicality that is just electric. I'd go gay for Tyler Durden.
Overall, Fight Club ranks lower on my top movies list than many people might expect given my tastes but it's due to its contrary and contradictory nature, it's trying to be too many things to too many people at once. However, stylistically and satirically, it works very well.
I really love it up until around Project Mayhem, and although I like how the film progresses character and plotwise, I feel the message starts getting really muddled around that stage.
In fact, my wife hasn't seen it, so I may rent it this weekend. (Thank God for a local video store that has tons of old DVDs)

That's kind of the point, isn't it?

B) When you were digesting this life changing message about the commoditization, vapidness and ephemerality of modern life, were you watching this Hollywood blockbuster at the local multiplex, or had you purchased the special limited edition box set?
no
i was watching a pirated copy :)

I was really just commenting on how well Pitt took to the role. I honestly think he should have been up for a Best Supporting for it.

I thought the Fight Club soundtrack was quite good. I think it was the Dust Brothers or something.
It did have "Where is my Mind?" by the Pixies at the end. That's a good song.
