Are you sure you're not thinking of Blade Runner?
Nah, Blade Runner wasn't long enough ago, plus I actually own that one. This thing had what seemed like a unexpectedly full-fledged flight sim built in. I vaguely recall doing some half-interesting clicking around, then ended up in a flying car and having no clue as to what to do. There was also something open-ended about it, almost like it was a living city, but perhaps that was just an illusion that hadn't been broken yet by the adventure-click aspect.
At any rate, my memory sounds like Tex Murphy descriptions I've been reading.

Sounds like Mean Streets to me too. Was there a strange sideways-scrolling shoot-em-up section too?

I'll be waiting for a sale price myself, but dungeon crafter (

Evil Genius has hit GOG.com.
Also,
Ground Control, a 3D RTS that I have considerably less interest in.
Empire Earth will be incoming, I wonder how good it is.

If I didn't own a copy already, I'd have been all over it. For those who don't know, it's Dungeon Keeper meets '60s Spy Movies.

Was there an expansion pack for that at one point? I downloaded something from the developer's website that claimed to be one, but it was basically just as zip file full of miscellaneous stuff as far as I could see.

With the health of the PC market being compared with consoles, I think the difference is that consoles provide easy entry-level gaming, but that PC games have a depth that console games seem to lack; therefore the PC appeals more to the hardcore gamer. With the drive of casual games via outlets like Facebook and Kongregate, though, maybe the health of the hardcore gamer is at risk, and that's what really should be addressed.
This.

Some of our users have actually purchased every single game in our catalogue
Holy cow. The catalogue is 135 games at the moment (plus a handful that have been removed, but which were presumably also purchased by these people).
Sounds like OCD to me, but at least it's for a good cause :)
I hope they have a whole heap of time on their hands!
